Somalia gives up its fishing rights to China
At a time when local fishermen in Somalia are struggling to compete with foreign vessels that are depleting fishing stocks, the government has granted 31 fishing licenses to China.
Since assuming power last year, this is the first time that Somali president, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has given fishing rights to foreigners, news site BBC reports.
Under the new development, the China Overseas Fisheries Association, which represents 150 companies, will be allowed to fish for tuna in Somali waters.
The country’s fisheries ministry is hopeful that the move would ensure that resources are exploited legally.
Over the years, local fishermen and coastal communities in Somalia who survive on fishing have appealed for assistance from the government to keep larger, foreign boats out of the country’s territorial waters.

China’s African debt-trap: Beijing prepares to seize Kenya’s port of Mombasa
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – China may be preparing to seize some major assets in the African nation of Kenya, as a result of debt-trap diplomacy.
African media reports that Kenya may soon be forced to relinquish control of its largest and most lucrative port in Mombasa to Chinese control.
Other assets related to the inland shipment of goods from the port, including the Inland Container Depot in Nairobi, and the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), may also be compromised in the event of a Chinese port takeover.
Kenya has reportedly taken extremely large loans from the Communist government for the development of some major highways, and especially for the SGR, which forms a crucial transport link to and from Nairobi for the import and export of goods through Mombasa.
In November, Moody’s noted that Kenya is at high risk of losing strategic assets because of debts owed to Beijing.
Local media began to express concern that Chinese lenders may be angling to seize assets, since it does not appear the Kenyan government will be capable to repaying the loans.
Now, one month later, ahead of the New Year, it’s been reported that the Chinese may be preparing to take over the Mombasa Port infrastructure soon.

Delta flight from Beijing to Seattle diverted to Aleutian island
A Delta plane flying from Beijing to Seattle Monday was diverted to Shemya, an island in the western Aleutians.
According to a statement from Delta Air Lines, flight 128 had a potential engine issue.
The diverted plane is a 767-300ER with 194 customers. The airline sent another aircraft to pick up the passengers in Shemya and take them the rest of the way to Seattle. It arrived mid-day and headed toward Seattle around 4 p.m. A Delta spokesperson wrote in an email that the new flight is expected to arrive in Seattle just after 10 p.m. Pacific time.
Delta sent maintenance technicians, customer service agents and a new crew to operate the flight to Seattle. The airline apologized for the delay, noting safety is always its top priority.
Shemya is a small island on the western end of the Aleutian chain. Eareckson Air Station is located on the island and has a 10,000 foot paved runway.
Representatives from the Federal Aviation Administration could not be reached because of the partial government shutdown.

They are actors. They live their lives being something they are not. They “play” characters. How can you tell what any of them actually think.

Just curious, why be so snooty with your question? What they think doesn’t have an impact on what I think. However, many people do follow actors, and so I like it when one has enough balls to speak up instead of going along with the anti USA agenda.
There was a time when the actors and movies were pro USA and reflected more honorable people and values. To me that’s preferable than having hollyweird dress up in BAAL clothes and movies like HELLBOY.
Mind Control methods using TV and movies has destroyed the culture and helped to move it away from our Christian roots. I find that appalling, and so I welcome it when one of them has the guts to go against their crap.
