Any woman who makes a stink over the guy picking up the check deems herself not worthy of a second date. Consequently, any man who expects the woman to pick up the tab on a first date deems himself not worth of a second one.
I think that's called checks and balances.

I’m with you brother. If she is offended she is not for me. My last girlfriend was a Lib. I think she ended up appreciating it.
I also find most woman don’t know the dance when you hold the door for them.

The trick is to get her boozed up enough to run her mouth about how much she hates it when her date patronizes her by picking up the check. It's particularly good if I've picked her up at her door, I can just leave her at the restaurant, since she's so good at taking care of herself. Online dating services stink, but it's not a bad idea to start a Yelp page to rate the dates.

A man should open the door. Women are the weaker sex, no question. When it comes to paying the check, women should pay. After all, they’re demanding equality in the workplace and taking the high paying jobs (while the men still often do the heavy lifting). I think it’s a fair trade.
I hate this war between the sexes. I don’t want to be weak little wifey deferring to the Big Man, but I sure hate men being so angry at all women because some are bitches. Some of us are not. And yeah, whoever invites whomever should pay for that first meal, but if one of the couple has more money,then they should probably find a way to pay or find a way to make the situation more comfortable. I don’t think men should always automatically pay.
A couple of weeks ago, within a week, I experienced 3 acts of gallantry I hadn’t seen in a long time. But now I can remember only two of them. One was a 19-year-old who offered me his hand to help me step over some rocks. The other was a man about my age (late 60s-early 70s) who has ALS. It was at a neighborhood Xmas party. Any time a woman came to sit down at the table or got up to leave, this gentleman would stand (and it was a bit of a struggle for him).
I’ve never been on a date where I didn’t pay for everything.
I see both sides of the battles. I have four sisters, have two daughters, and there are lots of females in both sides of the family. When I say women are the weaker sex, I'm talking about brute strength, upper body strength, heavy lifting etc. Much easier for the guy to do the heavy lifting while many women often can't. I've been in jobs where the women demand the same pay as me, but want me to pick up and install stuff that is supposed to be part of the job duties but they can't or won't - not fair to me.
On the other hand, I see a lot of lazy good-for-nothing guys in the younger generations where the women are smarter and work harder. Both my daughters make real good pay, several times what their men make. They can afford to pick up the check and often do.

Same here. I don't know what planet the writers of the article are living on or what age they are.
