A Stanford administrator once told a fraternity to remove an American flag flying out front in order to 'improve its image on campus,' according to a new report.
Stanford graduate Pablo Lozano says a residential education liaison made the suggestion in fall of 2017 while the Sigma Chi fraternity was on probation, the Stanford Review reports.
During a meeting with the fraternity members, the administrator 'insinuated not only that the flag made others uncomfortable but that its being flown tainted Sigma Chis reputation and, presumably, worsened its chance of survival,' the student publication reported.
Lozano said that the students discussed the administrator's suggestion and became incensed, wondering why displaying the U.S. flag at an American institution would be offensive or alienating, as the administrator seemed to imply.
Instead of removing the flag, the fraternity members decided to get a larger one, said Lozano.

I'm glad to see that they stood their ground and got an even bigger American flag. They should have flown a Gadsden flag as well, if only to see the administrators heads explode.
My question to the admin would have been exactly who is uncomfortable?
In January of this year, a non-Stanford student attending a party at Sigma Chi allegedly drugged five sorority members and two members of the men’s rowing team.
The chapter was put under further sanction by Stanford, and in May of this year, the fraternity chapter’s charter was revoked by Sigma Chi International.
The parent group said it had conducted a membership assessment of the Stanford chapter and ‘determined there were few members who would carry the chapter forward in a positive manner’.

:)
I like this frat group, where do I sign up?
I noted they are reported to be on probation.
Most likely double secret probation.
"It just doesn't matter!", as long as the toga parties are successful...
I am sure glad Andy Grove didn’t live to see the destruction of Stanford.
He taught many of the current SV leaders on how to run a successful startup.
$70,000 a year to attend there and $4.000,000$$$ used tract houses. And still they hate living in USA?
If I were a donor or alumni I would pull every single penny of support from this ANTI-AMERICAN educational institution ASAP. And I would fire off an angry signiture required letter to the president/dean of this disgraceful institution and let them know in no uncertain terms that since they support anti-Americanism, then they don’t deserve or need ANY of my AMERICAN CURRENCY.
They just gotta remember that it wasn’t over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.
This books tells a lot about how our country became so divided with Joseph Gobbles type propaganda...and that is just what has been happening...the destruction of our history via statues; the quiz of which bathroom to use; the identity of self; the silencing of debate and so on...I've a suggestion...give Mac Donald's book as a Christmas gift.....
If they don’t want anything to do with the flag, then I’m sure they’d be happy to give back all the money the US government is giving them.
Many would find that flag sensuous.
Pearl Harbor, is that one of the 57 states? Germans live there?
My dad, if he were still with us, would have a stroke over this.
He was a Sigma Chi.
I’m a Stanford grad and they were our rival frat.
However, it wasn’t anything serious and we got along. Just like my fraternity, we hated ALL liberals on campus.
They didnt do this sh*t at our fraternity because of the amount of school boosters from our frat alumni for the programs entrenched with the school. They did this to our frat, the entire board will be out of the job in 24 hours. Our alumni is very, very influential...
I never thought it would come to this.Social fraternities supporting simple normative patriotism.
Hmm...why no swastika on the tail of that Stuka?
Don’t suppose that pic was...photoshopped!!?
;^)
