(AP) Nairobi, Nigeria -- Prince Alab Swalahari was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his palace in Nairobi on Tuesday. A note next to his body stated that he was despondent that no one would accept his attempt to give away his vast riches.
His brother explained, "Alab had converted to Christianity quite some time ago. All he was trying to do was live a Christ-like life! Christ commands us to give our money to the poor. He tried for over 15 years, sending people emails to give away his money, but all he got back was mockery and hate. I guess it finally became too much for him."
Swalahari had recently been the target of a United States-initiated FBI investigation, and Interpol was scheduled to interview him a few days before his suicide.
Said his mother, "I am so incredibly sad. My son! All he was trying to do was give away his money, and the world would not believe him! Why are people so cruel?"
The fortune Swalahari was attempting to give away totaled more than 46 billion Naira, which is approximately 127 million dollars in United States currency. His lawyer remarked, "Obviously there would be some fees for transfer of this large amount of money, but when we asked for the few thousand dollars to make the transfer happen, not one person was willing to do it..... and several dozen people even contacted the authorities!"
Funeral arrangements will be held at Kenyatta Funeral Parlour, 128 Thiika Hwy South, this coming Wednesday.

All along.
And by deleting his emails, you have helped to kill poor Prince Swalahari.
Some of the Prince’s relatives have been busy:

You are wise - so many of us bought into it and sent in the fee amounts!! So sad he died before we got our share.
Anyone who missed the opportunity to get the prince’s money can send me their bank information and I will make sure they get a second chance at it. For the children.
lol

Thanks Laz for your wit and wisdom. I really liked your election thread even though the nervous Nellies got hot flashes. I like the Greek definition of agape - the type of love that holds and sees great value in something. IE - for God loved the world...
You give us that in your sarcasm, humor, joy of all things Freeped. You took care of the NNs even though they didnt understand.
I am definitely a satisfied customer of your threads and so I hope you had a great Christmas and have a wonderful New Year planed.
Cheers!
