An American tourist in Switzerland was forced to hang on for his life when his instructor didn't properly attach his harness just before they went hang-gliding.
Chris Gursky, who lives in Florida, posted a video of the ordeal on YouTube Monday, and it has garnered more than a million views in just one day.

Hint: If you are bothered by heights you might want to skip the video.
Not sure what’s worse - instructor jumping off your parachute, or not buckling you properly in your hang glider.
I picked the wrong week to take up air sports.

He hung on way, waaaaaaaaay longer than I think I could have.
What kind of lawsuit would the instructor be facing in the USA, eh..?
Wow.
I’m wondering why didn’t the pilot turn back toward the mountain and land uphill?
Also, from my Marine Corps days many many years ago, if he could have pulled himself up enough to get one arm over the bar up to the armpit he could have hung on a good bit longer, but probably fairly painfully.
Hang-gliding can be expensive... hope he was able to get a refund.
And, no, I'm not going to watch the video.
I would have expected the pilot to immediately turn back into the take off slope to stall and land rather than take the guy so high over timbered terrain.
A fake YouTube stunt, perhaps...?
Turning around to land up hill would of killed them both.
I used to fly gliders, have a lot of hours. One of the most important things you do before you take off is a hang check. Someone holds your glider level as if you’re in flight and you make sure you’re all connected and hanging correctly. I don’t get how this happens.
That’s suicide.
"...not going to watch video..."
This a hey bro dont leave me hanging moment.
“I will go hang gliding again as I did not enjoy my first flight”
LOL. I don’t think I could muster that much humor.
The selfie stick out front was a nice touch, too.
>>>for dear life . . .<<<
Oh my gosh! A 1950’s headline!

...
He was highly motivated. He tore the tendon in his left shoulder from hanging on so long.
I’ve always wanted to go hang gliding in Switzerland. Last time it was too windy. First trip I was saving it for last day and it was raining buckets of rain. I don’t think I’ve ever heard thunder as loud as it was in the Lauterbrunnen valley area.
You decide which seems most likely.
