I think that is the whole point of what we have been learning about secret organizations.
People are let in on the hard core stuff gradually through a process of initiation in secrecy.... and compromised by the whole process as we have been learning in our readings about the Skull and Bones, for example.

Another Trekker here. Used to follow the conventions around the country. I heard the difference was that a Trekkie was a fan and a Trekker was creatively active in the community. Was OBSESSED for over a decade.
Owls have been a symbol of wisdom and pride since the Ancient Greeks. How does one distinguish between the innocent Owls (whom we admire for their faculties greater than our own and everybody knows how smart birds are) and the evil pedo ping pong owls. Tough question.

Yes. tough question indeed.
I think that is what research is for.
If you see a pattern of possible wrong doing.... and then see a symbol with the person or organization which has been subject to associations with evil, then that is a clue.
In my mind the symbol is not definitive of the bad guy, but is a clue that makes it mandatory to research deeply so as to rule out that the suspected bad guy is or isn’t really a bad guy.
As an armchair researcher, to me a symbol does not define a person or organization to be enmeshed in evil.... but if you see an organization using a lot of symbols with perverted meanings.... and you find associations with known perverts/ criminals/ bad actors, then even that does not necessarily prove anything.... but all of that together can provide a preponderance of evidence, thereby warranting the need for even further research...
It is important to practice “innocent until proven guilty.” I am not a court of law. I can point to evidence, but I also know that higher investigative standards are required in order to actually prove the wrong doing.
Same point right there though - I like red. Red shoes would be cool. How absolutely dare they take a simple shoe color and make something occult out of it. Still not going to wear red shoes. No red scarves for me either for that matter, nope.

This is only my opinion. I have decided that for now, I do want to use the butterflies I got from my family members, and I want to enjoy my owls as well!
