ADAIRSVILLE, GA A Georgia man has been charged with burglary and theft after he was found inside a business wearing a hoodie and underwear. Officers with the Adairsville Police Department on Monday, Nov. 19 were dispatched to a call of trespassing at Caliber Construction at 7171 Ga. 140.
A sergeant and two officers arrived to find a man, later identified as Michael C. Abbott, standing on the carport of the business. Abbott was only wearing a gray Caliber Construction hoodie and a pair of black underwear, Adairsville police said.
Abbott told police that he ran out of fuel on Interstate 75 and "walked through the woods where he had fallen into a creek the evening before." He told police he approached and went inside the business because he was "cold and wet." According to security footage reviewed by officers, Abbott remained inside Caliber Construction throughout the night.
"Once inside the business Mr. Abbott continued his strange behavior, (including) forging his name to a check he had found, writing different types of graffiti on numerous documents, and walking around the business in different states of undress," Adairsville police added.
Abbott refused to provide names of family members or personal contacts, and officers found that the man's driver's license had been placed inside the wallet belonging to the owner of the business. The wallet, police said, had been "left secured within the building."
Abbott, a resident of Rising Fawn, was transported to the Bartow County Jail, and has been charged with burglary, theft by taking, criminal trespassing and forgery.
DANG!
He was there forging ballots for Stacey Abrams. He’s just a little behind is all.
It was Stacey Abrams. Identifying as a crazy man.
LOL...wouldn’t be hard for her to identify as a crazy man forging ballots for herself.
I’m thinking there’s a wee bit of a chance drugs might have been involved.
Sounds like a mental case or Bath Salts case...................
I’m amazed that this didn’t take place in Florida.
Well, Georgia is next door!.....................
If it were only the breaking and entering I’d forgive him, but the other stuff is crazy. I’d agree there’s a good chance drugs were involved.
I have a shop at the back of my detached garage and I don’t lock it because I can only think of only 2 reasons some unknown person would go in there. One is that if they’re up to “no good” they’d just grab some something in the garage and break in, so add the cost of a broken door to whatever they steal. The other reason is if they were “seeking shelter from the storm”. If they didn’t steal anything that would be fine; I’d even give them breakfast in the morning.
But forging checks and destroying things is beyond what I would forgive.
Turd-owe has legalised pot, here in Kanaduh...
...is it also legal in Georgia? PCP?
The underwear wasn’t originally black ...
Meth is a hellava drug!
Adairsville is north of Atlanta and located on I-75. The guy could have been from just about any where. His car ran out of gas near Adairsville. Two more gallons of gas and he might have made it to Chattanooga. Then we could have blamed those illiterate Tennessee hillbilly types.
