A new study shows men who have full beards are more attractive than men who are clean-shaven.
The study was published in the Journal of Evolutionary Biology.
Researched asked more than 8,500 women to rate men on their attractiveness as a long-term romantic partner, Yahoo News reported.
Here’s how the facial hair rated:
1. Heavy stubble (10 days)
2. Full beards
3. Light stubble
4. Clean-shaven
“Beards may be more attractive to women when considering long‐term than short‐term relationships as they indicate a male’s ability to successfully compete socially with other males for resources,” the study concluded.
Beards, the researchers said, are associated with a man’s age and masculine social dominance.

I disagree. When I first met the man I would eventually marry, he had a mustache and a goatee. They weren’t at all attractive.
Ironically, he shaved when a prospective employer told him they were unattractive!
Me, neither. I prefer clean shaven.
I hate this recent trend that almost every man in every commercial or tv show HAS TO HAVE A BUM’S BEARD. And I mean EVERYONE! When the hell did that start? I think they look like hell . . . like they need a bath and a bowl of soup and a place to sleep.
It’s almost as exceptionally annoying that every commercial now has to have a “black” somewhere in the commercial, even if it’s a “white” woman making breakfast for 3 kids . . . one of them is “black.” But you can have a “black” commercial or tv show and NOT have any “whites.”
Do they think we don’t see that crap?
What if your hair is naturally gone from your head and you get a goatee?

Cause i’m tellin ya, i’m 50 and it’s getting mighty thin on top, and thick in the middle :(

They say that facial hair is more like pubic hair than scalp hair.
I think there is more of one or two substances that keep it from falling out like scalp hair does.
But what about men who wear a Balbo? Or a Van Dyke?
I was clean shaven until about 30 then did a beard for about a year (no cheeks, no neck). My hair was brownish, my beard was red.
Then I did no beard till I was about 40. I grew it out longer (~6 inches from the chin) one time for about 3 months, but other than that have kept it short with no cheeks, no neck. Course it’s white now, the red was the first part to go.
When I retire I’m likely gonna go full Santa :)

Nor to me, generally. I will admit that some men look great with a well manicured beard but overall, I really can’t stand the long beards that are so prevalent now. If the trend were to disappear overnight, I would not be sad.

Amen, amen. And they are always the perfect family with a new house and new car, neither of which I can afford.
That may be true if the guy wears Carhartt, knows how to change a tire, wear a baseball hat properly, run a chainsaw, change the oil on their cars, own-carry-shoot a gun, throw a perfect spiral, cast a line, throw a baseball and not look like Spaz from Meatballs, basically, do GUY shit. However, with unfortunate evolution of the ‘hipster’ that is all changed. So, I’m not saying there isn’t any validity to the survey, probably just needs a bit more clarification.
On a side note, since beards are so trendy the “male” Brooklyn hipster needed a solution to achieve a level of manliness, he/she/it couldn’t achieve otherwise(bit old, but I’m sure it’s still happening)..
