It's amazing to me that pitchers throw in the 90’s consistently, sometimes over 100, and yet the scores of so many of these games are like football scores. What gives? Are hitters that much better than before? Are pitchers throwing too much heat and not enough junk and off speed stuff? Can someone explain to me?

Lifelong Buffalo Bills fan here. I assure you Dodger Fan will go on and on about the virtue of just GETTING THERE two years in a row. From someone who experienced LOSING four straight Super Bowls, Dodger Fan is pissing up a rope.

Somewhere Bill Buckner is celebrating ...
Why? He got to go to the World Series with the Dodgers in 74, and though he was traded to the Cubs for Rick Monday when it was clear that Steve Garvey was the future at first base, was always remembered fondly by Dodger fans.

Clearly the Sox were the better team...but the Dodgers could at least have had a shot if their bullpen had been better in critical spots.
Also Machado is not a good player to have in critical hitting situations. He is incapable of changing his approach depending on the pitcher, count or game situation. He just swings the same way every time.
Finally, Roberts didn’t manage well.

You mean the Red Sox mgr? That’s what I thought, too. OTOH, Roberts over-managed the Dodgers. I don’t know which is worse. I rooted for the Dodgers, but Red Sox players proved themselves better at the game.

California is still a loser! Yep (except for the Warriors).

“The Dodgers lost because they over-relied on analytics”
I agree. Im not sure analytics can tell you who’s hot in that particular moment, or when to go with them.

No, I meant Roberts. Little emotion. Yeah hes in for some criticism. I seldom pay attention to baseball any more, so I didnt know much about the rosters. But yeah, what clutch play by the Bosox.
The fame is just too slow for me. I have to record each game and then 30 second FF thru to catch the pitches. Otherwise too long to watch. But Games 3 and 4 were classics.

Billy Buck was one of my favorite Dodgers EVER. I hated what the Red Sox fans did to him.
My Dodgers got spanked hard. And now I have a sad.
Congrats to you, Mears. Your team done good.

The Sox were the best team in baseball by far going in. No surprise they’re the best team in baseball by far coming out.
So long, baseball! See you in the Spring!
