5-1
“How is your guy doing tonight?”
My guy? Did I mention I’ve been playing “pick the sticks” with a friend? Not sure to what you referred.
My guys, one from each team, Bernintendi got me 2 points, Hernandez cost me 3. Bottom line: I won $3 for the series.

PS --- If I were a Dodger fan I would have been grossed out by my teams last SIX BATTERS striking out meekly to end the season. PATHETIC!
A long winter in La La Land.
Taking Hill out was his biggest mistake. He also failed to pinch hit for position players in some situations when he should have.
___________
The hitters are much bigger, stronger.......... and the balls are juiced. And, most all of them are swinging for the fences.
That's about it.
However, I think if you look it up the runs scored are not tooo much higher than twenty to thirty years ago.
Be well...........

PS .... have a little fun.

LOL ...... that would be cool.
I was fourteen years old and downtown in Pittsburgh on October 13th 1960.
Maz's homerun to end that amazing Yankees -- Pirates World Series.
The good old days.
I hear you!
That World Series was bizarre, I'm sure you know. The Yankees were a juggernaut and we (The Pirates) were basically a group of over-achieving whackos.
I didn't get to go to that game, the seventh game, but I got to go see game two --- The Pirates were murdered 16 to 3. I did see something in that game that day I guarantee few ever have seen.
My brother and I were sitting way out at HUGE old Forbes Field in the second deck of the right field stands. It was 457 at Forbes to straight away center. In our seats, we were sitting about 420 feet from home plate and about 30 feet up.
Some time around the 6th inning Mickey Mantle (BATTING RIGHT HANDED) hit a ball past us about fifty feet to our right at eye level.
So ...... we estimate that that ball, which sailed past us and landed in a Little League ball field way out past Forbes Field well over 100 feet past the outfield wall, landed around 550 to 580 feet from home plate. AND HE HIT THE BALL TO THE OPPOSITE FIELD!!!
The Mick was one mighty strong Oklahoma guy
I swear that is true.
Anyhow that 16 to 3 loss was one memorable game to me ....... not quite as memorable as Game 7.
Yes, at 4 games to 1, it sure was one sided
If you think about it, if Kinsler does not trip upon making the throw for the final out in game 3, the Red Sox would have won. So, really the Red Sox swept the Dodgers 5 games to 0.
I am more of an Anaheim Angels fan, but being from the L.A. area, I was rooting for the Dodgers. They kept striking out with runners in scoring position. They also kept hitting into the shift. If I were the hitting coach, I would train these guys to hit into the open side of the diamond. Easy 2-base hit. But no, Dodgers hitters did not get it.
Runner at third with less than 2 outs, and given the fact that the Dodgers could not hit, they should have laid down squeeze bunt after squeeze bunt to manufacture runs.
Bums.
And how happy I am that Mike Soscia is no longer Angels manager.
This is a major problem that the Dodgers had all year - they had power bats but no OBP guys - and thus could rarely manufacture runs. It’s a major flaw in the team that was not exposed in the relatively weak National League, but the better American League teams were far more balanced offensively and had superior bullpens.
