I'll be in New Orleans with my family over the Thanksgiving Weekend; wife and the 4 boys aged 13-21. None of us have been.

We need a great dining spot for one night. Gotta be great food. Really want it to be representative of New Orleans cuisine/style but that doesn't have to be the sole menu focus.

Don't want steakhouses (Doris) or the better Italian places. I've seen the list of usual suspects but some seem to formal (Brennans) and others not interesting.

Looking for a "business casual" atmosphere. Would appreciate any ideas. Thanks!

Don’t know about N.O. cuisine restaurants, and I’m sure someone will have great suggestions. We went to the WWII museum a few years back and ate lunch at the restaurant there, The American Sector. BEST HAMBURGER ever.

Bayou Burger is a nice place, Central Market & Deli if you want mufaletta and Ruby Slipper is amazing for breakfast. M2C

Get out of the city and visit a real local place. No idea if they are open Thanksgiving weekend.

For business casual I’d do Acme Oyster House.

There really are no bad restaurants in New Orleans. There are so many good ones that the bad ones do not last.

The Bon Ton was known for great Louisiana chow when I did business in town. Don’t know if it’s still around.

For authentic Cajun food and atmosphere, Mulates is very hard to beat, and close to the casino which is a safe area. For one meal with a variety, you might like Drago’s in the Hilton by the riverfront. I would start off with the chargeilled oysters.

If you go for a drink after dinner, don’t miss Latitude 29 for real retro tiki cocktails.
