Pres Trump shares East Room stage with Sergeant Major John L Canley, USMC (Ret.), recipient of today's Medal of Honor, for conspicuous valor under fire, coming to the aid of fellow Marines, in 1968 during the Vietnam War.

During the Tet Offensive in Vietnam, Sgt Major Canley "risked his own life to save the lives of those under his command," said Pres Trump, recounting Canley's bravery meriting the Medal of Honor.

"You don't look 80 years old to me," Pres tells Sgt Major Canley, commenting on the fitness of the retired Marine.

Yes. We didn’t do her gravy because Mr. Sg is the gravymeister of the house. The stuffing was ambrosial! Does it sound good to you?

it is awful, especially being so progressive and each case lasting different amounts of time. and no cure.

my sister lasted a year and a half but said the average is 3-4 years.

the worst part was she was a neurologist and treated the disease. so she couldn’t be in denial about any of it. and knew how it would end, with not being able to breathe.

One other thing: her gravy does sound good.(Mr. Sg uses Tone’s chicken base; we used to get something called “Jamison’s” maybe, but it’s hard to get any more.) Gravy is regarded as a beverage in our home, so Kim’s recipe would have to be increased by a few logs or exponents or whatever. Heaven will have unlimited whipped Yukon Golds prepped with sour cream and chives, served with gallons of gravy.

NIKK, found your stories of angels/attendants fascinating. And they look different to everyone. Some are androgynous, some male, some female. Some in flowing robes, some in misty bland colors, some grim/some radiant. Wanted to mention that the “transition team” and or angelic attendants I mentioned also manifests in dreams.. almost 50/50. God gives us messages (kinda a godly Q) that are sometimes cryptic. Remember how Daniel had to interpret dreams for the king? and also others that needed help?

My years of a “death chaplain” as I was referred to by the hospital staff, revealed much sharing along this line. Most do NOT tell family or friends as they are afraid they will thought to be delusional/hallucinatory and be embarrassed by it. So many today have no real concept of God in their lives as a relevant participant. They see Him as a distant - maybe He exists - entity

Dealing with all this issues revolving a prolonged death are complex. The financial the spiritual, the live til you die mentality, the cruel visitors (an often the worst are clergy telling the people God is paying them back)

RE: van. I won’t have anything cosmetic fixed. I do have a reliable mechanics who are not gaugers to look at securing the two lights and trouble shooting if anything else went askew w under the hood. The LEO said the main issue with my type of van was usually radiator leaks. We saw none and there remains none ad no overheating so Im good there.

I stopped by and chatted briefly this AM with an attorney friend. Bottom line.. iM SCREWED.. I am hoping for a nice magistrate or judge who will take pity on me and maybe pass on court costs and NOT let the points be assigned my license. Pretty sure the fine won’t be reduced.

Reflecting, I am blessed. The van is drivable. a real blessing as for now, it is home for Lucy and me. No one was hurt. i stilll have my sanity although am very VERY annoyed.

At laundromat now doing 4 loads. Don’t I lead an exciting life??

Not sure where Ill watch the Trump Rally tonight

Im excited about OUR CARAVAN of trains, convoys, planes heading to many locations at the border.

I think a YUGE part is Shock and AWE... scare a lot of them away

BUT

I have no doubt that our POTUS means business. They will not be coming in. The may be shot, they might die. THEIR CHOICE.

I have a feeling as any of a group gets close that fliers in their language will be sky dropped with “ya better turn around - we be serious!” kinda message on it. Forewarned. I think DJT will make sure the media has copies f these fliers and he and others on staff/supporters will tweet away with this info.

A very powerful red line was drawn when our country borders were set. We now have someone who thinks they need to be secured.

Good.

I do not feel sorry for those who wish to come here illegally. I respect their plight but not their methodology and game plan. The people I believe are being lied to .. pawns used again by the left to discredit and make the right appear heartless.

Thanks for sharing Dolly...it really upset me that my Pastor who has visited many at hospitals and homes and be closed minded. It concerns me that he's this closed minded and he's with people who are experiencing Angels and hopefully he's not preaching to them about what/how they should believe instead of listening to their Godly visit/visits they want to share.

enjoyed your recipe sharing.. my I miss cooking. I love doing it..

Years ago before I was a vegetarian I would entertain and have vegetarians present. I always had good dishes for them .. and NON meat based gravies for their potatoes, stuffing etc

I normally made 3 stuffings.. YUP.. The one like yours (mine was different )but meaning the basic stuffing went into the bird. The two others were the novelty ones. I experimented each year. NO ONE ever asked for the recipe for the one in the bird.. everyone did that - but they wanted the others.

I would make three gravies. The traditional Turkey with the turkey drippings. A white pepper gravy (that I learned to appreciate my 15 years living in NC) and a savory veggie broth gravy. Again people asked for this two recipes.

I cooked my last T’gving dinner about 5 years ago at my brother’s in OKC. Did about the same menu

I don’t do cornbread any longer. I do specialty rolls, muffins and croissants. In lieu of the cornbread I do the cornbread casserole, which I have tweaked the recipe over the years. That recipe is demanded also. I could eat that for the meal alone.

For salad I usually do green mixture of wild, boston, romane. various julienne veggies and some fruit (like dried cranberries ) and a candied pecan. Offer several dressings. I used to make my own but now the selection of bottles commercial dressings is so awesome, I won’t even try to compete. I get quite a few to serve & pull out two of my favorites and have guests take the others home.

No with so many people on strange diets I am not sure I would want to cook for a group

I share your cringe. I saw it and had to “fix it afterward” too many times

You simply would not believe what many pastors, priests said.

Granted there were many really gifted spiritual leaders who helped the parishioner but many just added to the pain. You could tell immediately after if the patient was smiling or crying or looking distressed.

There are a lot of good layman courses out for hospital visitation and ministering to the dying. Many pastors/priests have these programs with naturally or developed. Some are gifted with helping people make their earthly transition as the step into eternity.

some just add salt to the wounds.

Paul Ryan should be focusing on holding the Majority rather than giving his opinions on Birthright Citizenship.

ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!

When Ryan announced his decision to not run again he should have put the country first, above his ego, and resigned as Speaker.

But he decided he was more important than the nation or the republican party.

If Republicans manage to hold on to the House majority there is one man to thank for it and that man is President Trump.

If Democrats manage to win the House majority the man most responsible for the loss will be Paul Ryan.

Ryan is the leader of the house republicans but has done little if anything to fight for republican candidates in the vulnerable red states and swing states.

The president has been running with the pedal to the metal 24/7 trying to drag the republicans across the finish line.

But where has Ryan the House Leader been?

He's the Invisible Man, missing in action.

Gravy is a beverage in your house, you funny! The recipe does sound good, and I’m glad you said that it was moist. That will make all the difference because I wouldn’t want to try another cornbread recipe just to have it be dry. I won’t be able to cook this Thanksgiving, stupid arms, but I’m going to keep this in a file I am making of recipes to try. I emailed them to myself and one day I hope I will be able to get to them
