Lurkers are welcome.
Pres Trump shares East Room stage with Sergeant Major John L Canley, USMC (Ret.), recipient of today's Medal of Honor, for conspicuous valor under fire, coming to the aid of fellow Marines, in 1968 during the Vietnam War.
During the Tet Offensive in Vietnam, Sgt Major Canley "risked his own life to save the lives of those under his command," said Pres Trump, recounting Canley's bravery meriting the Medal of Honor.
"You don't look 80 years old to me," Pres tells Sgt Major Canley, commenting on the fitness of the retired Marine.

Keep the Truth coming Mr. President
Keep on Tweeting!
I’ve been on my soup making/freezing kick, for a couple of days, now.
I made a double batch of gumbo and a batch of beef stew.
Froze all but two YUGE servings (of the stew), that hubby and I had, last night....with my homemade Mexican cornbread. And, no...I do NOT like sugar in my cornbread :) Neither did my dad, nor my Granny...who was an amazing Southern cook.
THERE ARE PLENTY OF MISSIONARIES ALREADY IN THE US TO GET THE WORK DONE!!!! EVERY CHRISTIAN IS A MISSIONARY AND THE WITNESS IS HERE IF WE WOULD ONLY DO THE WORK.
The witness is not in many of the places in the world. Where I labor, there are over 250 languages. Less than 40 have any type of Bible they can read. How does a person learn of Jesus apart from Scripture? How, then, would a person grow in their faith without training, and especially, training in Scripture?
Each time before leaving for our field and returning after our furloughs, we evaluated the costs to our family, both financially and health and dangers. We considered all aspects carefully and decided to trust God with those problems. Our children, both then and now, fully chose to go with us. If they had felt otherwise, we would not have gone. They were all in the van with me when a man holding a gun came up to my door and demanded to know whether we were Christians. We all have had malaria, one of the most deadly diseases on the planet today. We, my husband and I, although we have 2 bachelor degrees and one-and-a-half master's degrees, make about $40,000 per year. We considered the costs.
It has been worth it all. It will be worth it all when we see Jesus.
I am sure that family, through their grief, thinks so, too.
t will be worth it all, when we see Jesus;
Lifes trials will seem so small when we see Christ;
One glimpse of His dear face, all sorrow will erase;
So bravely run the race, till we see Christ!
Press pool also reports @IvankaTrump shared her birthday cake with them. She turned 37 today.
Is she fat or pregnant ?

One for sure, possibly both.
I imagine many of these ‘caravan’ women are, or will be, pg, before long.
I love gumbo. We used to do audits in Lafayette LA & get the best gumbo I ever had. But Im sure yours is better.
Mexican cornbread has jalapeños, Im guessing?
Thanks for the POTUS/FLOTUS updates and pics, jenny.
Justice Kavanaugh declines more than $600,000 raised in GoFundMe campaign
My Mexican cornbread has Hatch NM green chili, cheddar cheese, corn and onions that have been sautéed in bacon grease. I bake it in a cast iron skillet....that has a spoonful of bacon grease melted.
Yeah, thats a real surprise. What did we expect, that they would see the evil of their ways & become accountants or something?
So we’ve gone past 20 days without Q, anyone have any thoughts on next post?
I am NOT surprised, that Kav has declined the GoFundMe $$.
I wonder if it will be donated to a needy charity?
Wow. Sounds great.
Thanks....our family sure enjoys it. Southern meets Southwestern :-)
Especially good on cold, winter nights.
Is that a Texas cornbread recipe?
That sounds great, I have an obsession with green chilies. Can your post the amounts?
Sugar would be all wrong in that kind of cornbread. And I think the ones without sugar go much better with soups and stews. Just for snacking, I like the Yankee cornbread. But don’t tell anyone, I will have to move.
Cornbread with sugar just ain’t right. God will judge you for that.
Hmmmm...I guess it is :-) We use CornKits, that are known as "A Texas Tradition". People like CornKits because there are no added ingredients, other than what you'd normally use to make cornbread with. Taste just like Granny's cornbread ;-)
The package calls for ⅔ C milk and 1 egg. To that I also add the small can of chopped Hatch chilis, about a ½ chopped onion, sautéed in bacon grease, 1 sm can of corn and about 2 C of shredded cheddar.
Pour batter into your iron skillet (that has about 2 T melted bacon grease in it) bake, per package (425º) for about 25 mins. Let cool a bit, to 'set', before cutting.
Serve with your fave stew, beans, peas, etc.
