If you were a typing student back in the days of the manual/electric typewriter era

If you were a penmanship student, back in the days of such things, you had a "copybook" of phrases that you would write, over and over, to develop your skill at penmanship ... and as a side benefit you would learn moral lessons that were contained in the headings of each page in the copybook.

It's a slightly edited version of Rudyard Kipling's "The Beginning" ... mainly changing the words "the English" or "the Saxon" (depending on which version you're using) with the word "Deplorables".

I submitted that to the thread in response to "The Gods of Copybook Headings".

I agree....it never pays to underestimate your opponent...you would think they would have noticed that when Hillary didn’t get elected and Trump did. How do you suppose they missed it? LOL! 0^0

Personally, I never heard of it. I took a typing class in 10th grade. The only drills I remember are the “Now is the time....” one, and the “The quick brown fox.....” one. I’se glad I did when later, in the Army they had me typing Morse Code messages on a “Mill” military typewriter.

I am afraid I agree with you. But why would they be so stupid to start a war they cannot win? I guess hate is enough motivation for them. They will start a fire they cannot put out.
