Die, CBS, Die!
In an interview, Jay Hernandez who plays Magnum, mentioned that there could be a romantic plot in the show between Magnum and Higgins.
That’s when I knew the show was doomed.
Tom Seleck IS Magnum............AND JIM WEST IS NOT BLACK!!!!
I caught last half of Manifest and it was pretty cool....and I'm hard to please, as I have not followed ANY TV series in a long time.....perhaps since 24's Jack Bauer.
I saw the pilot at CBS studios last February, and everyone in the room HATED IT. Yes, I was in the same room where product pilots are shot and they invite only Tv producers who are in the game.
Then the producer has to “explain” the pilot while the rest of us stood silent without giving a vibe. Moonves was not in the room (or by sat feed) which was a sign it was not going to work. plus the star is a homo. (Some of the guys in the room knew it)
Magnum carries a leafblower and the musical intro has an oom-pah-pah background beat to it, including “Ai..!” interjections.
The Ferrari dash features a fluorescent Jesus figurine.
Watched it was OK. Started episode driving a Lada 5 thru the NK jungle being chased by baddies that were firing semi autos at him from a Chinese deuce, so he spun the car around and pumped 3-4 shots with a handgun into the transport and it exploded. Totaled 2 Ferrari’s over the course of the episode, had some bad guys that were seemingly smarter and stronger than anyone they came against (how did they know Magnum would park a car that was not his and which he had not driven before where he did so they could ambush him and how did they follow him when he went out on the boat). Remember and liked the original maybe I am just old, but the plot holes are significant just like every other show on TV today. The new Higgins will be much more watchable than the old one however. :)
Big Bang Theory was awful last night. It had been slowly going downhill but to have a season premiere be so unfunny was a disaster, IMO. With scripts like that, now wonder Parsons decided that this season will be his last, effectively ending the series altogether.
Young Sheldon was mostly mediocre. Last year, that was the only new sitcom that got on my watch list, but if this season doesn’t improve quickly, I’ll dump it.
I thought season premieres for both 9 1 1 and The Resident were both very good.
I remember discovering the original Magnum on a Thursday night in December 1981. And then the following Friday night, I’d watch The Dukes of Hazzard. With this PC tripe posing as “Magnum”, it seems even more long ago when I watched shows like the above on CBS (not to mention Bob Barker still giving away fur coats on The Price is Right, lol).
They have a short Hispanic actor playing Thomas Sullivan Magnum and a woman playing Higgins. What could go wrong?
Recorded Manifest, but haven’t watched it yet. Another ‘people showing up after being missing’ series. Don’t hold much interest — but last year’s short-lived The Crossing turned out better than expected.
Magnum. Never watched the original. Retooled version was okay. It does have time to get better or get worse. I rank it with the revived Hawaii-50 — watchable, but if I miss an episode, it is no big deal. H-50 still cannot decide whether it wants to be a comedy or drama.
All the good movies, TV Shows and Music have already been made.
I won’t even bother to check it out. No thanks.
I watched a little bit of it last night by accident. Probably should have watched a bit more but for some reason did not.
I read that they changed Higgins to a female. I remember thinking there was one character they would never even think of changing. The Black helicopter pilot.
Actually I sort of liked the one in the original.
People still turn network TV on? I shake my head every time I see a promo for the latest doctor cop diversity-drama that is advertsied, with exploding cars and helicopters falling from the sky... Sigh. Network TV is dead. A complete waste of time and commercials.
They put Bull against Manifest, an interesting sounding new show. I hate it when they put good shows against one another and they knock each other off the air. I watched Magnum PI for five minutes. The new Magnum is a wimp and had none of the depth or mystery of Magnum. Plus, they have all these politically correct and socially divergent characters littering the landscape.
I watched the beginning of it was curious how they would tie this one in with the original. Sorry after you have seen the original, this one sucks. Only one Magnum.
Big Bang Theory sucked.
Sheldon’s mom and Lenard’s Dad was the only highlite.
Kaley Cuco is just running out the clock.
Jeez louise. Those are all incredibly cr@ppy numbers.
There is only ONE Magnum.
