Durham?
I don’t need to even watch the video. I can picture itin my mind.
One group seems to vaguely enjoy chaos.
I’d like to think this would happen at any number of places but for some reason, Durham doesn’t surprise me a bit.
A couple missed meals wouldn’t hurt anyone in that video.
Yikes.
Bottled water, okay. But how’s the bread, milk, and toilet paper holding out?
I have a Go Bag stocked and ready for any emergencies.
Florence has been predicted to hit for a while. Anybody who waited til yesterday to get supplies is an idiot.
And Pres Trump will be blamed by the left wing enemy of the people media in 5....4....3....2...
(where's that popcorn gif ???)
Right on time. I lived in FL for 25 years and two days before the hurricane comes is when the shelves get emptied. Water, bread, any kind of easy to make meal, plywood, generators. Beer and wine also.
Have they used up a the Big words to make it sound Super Powerful yet ?
Warned for days before then wait until the last minute?
How about sacking the Duke Campus???/
And there are some on this site that claim a full blown civil war would last years.
All they need to do is watch this.
Some people do not understand that you have to be prepared in advance of a storm. One year I cam home from work and had expected that my wife would have gone to Sam's for supplies that day. The hurricane was expected to hit in 2 days. My wife had not gone to the store for anything. She said "I thought I'd go tomorrow". I said "tomorrow there won't be anything!". That's the way it is down here when a storm is coming. Stores run out of essentials. You have to stand in long lines just get what is left.
Note to self, don’t move to Durham.
What idiots. As if they weren’t told a hurricane was coming a week or two ago. In half the time they fought over bottled water, they could have filled every container in the house and the tub (cleaned, of course) with inexpensive tap water.
How many in the evacuation areas will remain and wonder why they aren’t rescued in the middle of it all? This weekend, they’ll be crying they have no food or water and it’ll be all Trump’s fault.
Currently working in Durham and resting my weary bones at night in Chapel Hill. Don’t care what anybody says, I was around Raleigh through Fran in ‘96 and I have been in Cat 4s and 3s on the coast. The hype around here is almost on par with inciting a riot. They will tell anybody within their listening area that they risk certain DEATH unless they act now. Of course, they will fall back on the old “better safe than sorry” excuse when they realize all their millions of dollars worth of weather technology and thousands of collective years in weather experience and with two days out, all they can produce is a map of North and South Carolina with a plate of spaghetti noodles piled on top.
Stopped in at the Food Lion to pick up a 12-pack of beer and some raw jumbo shrimp (on sale) last night and there were 6 or 7 check-out registers, 5, 6, 7 people deep each with at least one full buggy, many with two. 3, 4 cases of bottled water, 24 jumbo rolls of Charmin, cereal, soda, bread, etc...
What gas stations that are not out of gas, have lines going out into the street. Passed a Sheetz station on Hillsborough Road in Durham yesterday after work, yellow tape around the pumps (out of gas) and this morning at 6:30am (after a late night delivery) packed again with cars pumping gas.
My last storm prep stop this afternoon will be stopping at the ABC on the way home. Thinking Dark and Stormys. A simple hand basket will do... um, I think.
I’m so blessed to have indoor plumbing. I took a bunch of empty water bottles and filled them up via the faucet in my home.
Amazing that so many folks nowadays have to depend on h2o from an external source.
