NBC Sunday Night Footballs coverage of the Packers win over the Bears averaged about 19.4 million total viewers and a 6.6 demo rating in the fast nationals, down 11 and 17 percent from last seasons Sunday opener.
Last years Cowboys/Bears match-up went on to report 24.4 million viewers and a 9.1 rating in finals.
Over on ABC, Miss America (4.3 mil/0.7) dropped 20 and 26 percent from last years pageant.
Elsewhere, CBS Big Brother (5.7 mil/1.5) rose 21 percent and two tenths from last Sunday, while Foxs Rel sneak preview drew 5.1 million viewers and a 1.7 demo rating leading out of football, ranking as the nights top-rated entertainment program.
When you actually practice what is preached in the echo chamber, life can be very hawrd.
Going to be interesting to see for just how long shareholders in these companies will be willing to ride along in the name of virtue signaling.
All of television should take note of these numbers. Today’s television programming is mostly a worthless waste of time and none of our grandchildren, ages 10-24 watch TV. They are on their phones texting no one calls any more either or they are on their video games. The elderly snooze in front of their sets, but how many products does that sell? Television has had its day.
I read the season opener between the falcons and eagles was down 13% from last years opener.
I know why numbers are down but Bears vs GB was actually a pretty good game with a lot of intrigue. Not a bears fan but hated that Aaron Rodgers came back and won it for GB. Whats worst is the rise in the ratings of that crappy Big Brother show. Its stupid and boring
TV IS DEAD!
no bikinis = no viewers
no patriotism = no viewers
Miss SJW Amerika didn’t sell? Huh. Go figure.
What does not get reported is games recorded and watched with FF through commercials and halftime BS.
Have friends in New England that record Patriot games and meet up at a designated house 2 hours after kickoff to watch games and fast forward through the barrage of commercials, penalties, injuries and replays.
NFL=Unamerican and disrespectful. Taken over by BLM.
Miss USA=No skin. Run by lesbians now.
South Africa=Venezuela as farms are taken from actual farmers in the name of social justice. Really no difference in all 3 as all are failing.
I dumped it in 1997, so it has been for me for a long time. Interestingly, my wife and I leapfrogged a couple of decades by firing up our Amazon Prime usage last December. Streaming and physical DVD/BlueRay is all we’ve done, since ‘97.
Our biggest discovery - there is a LOT of crap out thare. We do something we never used to do: get 15 minutes into a movie and just turn it off.
>>Haha.<<
Cartoon image not needed :)
More people were watching a crazy reality show such as Big Brother, instead of Miss America???
Has Miss America lost its mojo? Since they banned the swimsuit part of it, did that tank the ratings?
Haven't watched a single game in over two years. Used to be a die-hard fan and watched the New England Turncoats and Dallas Cowgirls, until they took their collective masks off and openly showed how much they hate America and hate their own, now former fan base. The only thing they really care about is taking your money while they habitually spit on the flag, the country and us.
The NATIONLESS felon league can rot!
Although it’s lower than last years, 19.4 million viewers is still a lot these days.
NFL (and most sports) got to be big $$$ by being an escape from reality - the Roman Circus.
Leagues and players have decided to be “something more”, and with conflicting messages. Most still want “more $$$” and work toward that goal, which is almost guaranteed if they remain “an escape from reality”. Some want “more social influence” and work toward that, which is the opposite of “an escape from reality”. Others want to claim “I am not a role model” but work toward personal fame while “doing what they want” and insisting that while they have fame they don’t influence the youth, which conflicts with both of the other groups. Few understand their popularity (and $$$) came from being an escape from reality and they want to push “their reality” on the customers - which is the opposite of what made them popular in the first place (a new Roman Circus).
I saw a few minutes of some “beauty pageant” last light. Maybe “miss America”, but I didn’t notice. The moderator asked each airhead in turn what she had to say, and each one recited some memorized words that were nothing more than cotton candy - mostly air, sweet, no substance, not satisfying, and not good for you.
