Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-Texas) former campaign spokesperson said that it’s “possible” for Cruz to lose his reelection bid to Democrat Beto O’Rourke.

Rick Tyler, who served as Cruz’s former communications director during his 2016 presidential run, appeared on MSNBC Sunday and admitted that Cruz could lose in the red state.

“As the former Cruz strategist, it does seem as though the signs are that Ted Cruz might actually lose this race?” MSNBC host Kasie Hunt asked.

Tyler said that even in a predominately Republican state, O’Rourke is posing a real challenge for the senator.

“It’s possible

President Trump is doing his part to keep Ted Cruz and our majority in the Senate. What are you doing?

Doesn't sound as if Ted Cruz is doing his part to keep our majority in the Senate though, does it?

Beto is Obama's kind of cross-dressing guy-gal.

It seems that millions in TX have what one publication called “Beto-mania.” In the large urban areas, O’Rourke is a heavy favorite. If Cruz can’t get his sleepy voters to the polls, then we know the end is here.

[In the large urban areas, O’Rourke is a heavy favorite.]

That figures. Urban areas are always tilted towards Democrats. I would guess Houston, Dallas and of course, Austin.

Texans know what a Democrat is.

If the people down there anything more than a bunch of phony big-talking wannabe cowboys, then they will pull their head out of their rears and take care of business.

Otherwise I dont want to hear another word from that state about how they are some sort of cut above the rest of the nation....because Texas.

What are you doing?

I'm watching Ryan & McConnell, two hacks empowered by the politicians we elect, sabotage #MAGA. I'm forced to vote for Rs, but the leadership is throwing the fight. They'd be quite content with Ds in power.

That's well said. Also, I hope Ted is doing more than just ostentatiously drinking Dr. Pepper during televised hearings.

About this time 2 years ago, there were reports that Texas was in danger of flipping over to Hitlery. Did it happen?

One year ago nobody thought a Democrat could possibly win Jeff Sessions' seat in Alabama.

Ted Cruz is in trouble and that's why President Trump is going down to Texas to drag his ass across the finish line.

I think that Cruz would do himself a whole lot of good if he launched his 2018 reelection with something like an "I was wrong" campaign. If Cruz begins with apologizing for his 2016 RNC speech, admitting that Donald Trump achieved breathtaking results improving the economy, and vowing to get behind him 100% in implementing the remainder of the agenda through 2020, he'd all but wrap up the Texas vote.

No Cruz just alienated a lot of folks with his antics in 2016.

Hillary beat Trump in TX-7. A very “Republican” district. Wealthy libs much more energized than apathetic Republicans. Elsewhere in Houston, Taco-Truck voter registrations are way up.

One year ago nobody thought a Democrat could possibly win Jeff Sessions' seat in Alabama.

That situation was hardly comparable. Swamp rat Luther Strange got appointed into the Senate via a deal with the corrupt governor (who was facing impeachment), and the people of Alabama didn't react well and voted for Moore in the runoff. Yertle the Turtle didn't like that result, and gave little support to Moore, while the RATS poured cash into Jones' coffers.

Strange was probably the worst endorsement Trump ever made.

Now, Luther Strange is is back in the DC swamp with a new gig.

Despite the wild campaign rhetoric which ALL of the candidates engaged in, Cruz has been totally supportive of President Trump’s policies.
