There is no question that his experience was negative, but I like one line in particular, "when matched to their aptitudes they can absolutely be an asset to rear echelon units."

God made men and women different (and thank God for women), and uniquely compatible and complimentary, with functional/positional differences. The quest to ignore God's order is from the devil, who seeks to create a world of his perverse corruptions of what God has ordained in His wisdom.

Women have a role in the military, just not in combat areas.

This veteran (and son, grandson, great grandson and nephew of veterans) has very positive things to say about women in our military.

On my flight to basic training in the 60s, I sat next to a young woman who volunteered to join, when we dudes were expected to join up or be drafted.

My interactions with military females was infrequent, but never negative in my entire 4 years of service.

Since that time, I know of many young women who have served, and honorably so, in war zones, and who do everything guys do, and often better.

Females in the military? Yes, they are capable, and they are on our side.

Fellow Veterans and fellow Freepers, your missing something here. Look at today’s 18-22 year old males. Unfit, undisciplined, pussified safe room seeking, non warriors.

The military has missed it minimum recruiting goals for 7 quarters. Not getting enough new enlisting to just replace those qualified people leaving. Generals don’t necessarily want to open up combat units to women. But there are not enough fit males joining or heaven forbid, of draft age, that can man a weapon and take the fight to the enemy.

I served for 6 years in the AF Reserves during the lates 70s early 80s. I have a more military bearing than my husband who was in the military much longer and achieved a higher rank than I did. But, I am basically fearless.

If you think women are wusses, wait until you encounter a millennial. You will be begging to have some of those other women back.

I was a boy scout leader throughout the whole time my sons were in scouting. I did not take any garage off of those boys and they respected me big time. I had one dad that was a wuss. He was whimpering that he couldn’t lift a 40 lb bag of ice. These were the same bags that I had been hauling around all day as the supervisor for our for our fundraiser. So when I lifted it for him, I told him to his face, “I hope that you don’t strain your uterus.” He got the message. I never had to lift another 40 lb bag for him again.

I think women should be allowed to pilot planes in high-intensity, crisis situations - like this Christian woman did:

Women have a place in the Army as support. They have no place on the battlefield. They do not have the physical strength for the battlefield. Also men have an instinctive feeling to protect a woman. This degrades an effective force on the field of battle.

I have zero problems with a female combat pilot so long as she can attain the same standards of proficiency as all other combat pilots. I do not want a woman on the ground in a fire fight. Israel learned this painful lesson in the 1967 war. They have since modified where women can serve in their army.

I hate to tell this gut, but medical units often have women.
Female nurses were at Bataan for example.
But in the past they were not soldiers but civilians, often wives or nursing nuns who cared for casualties.

The impression I was getting is that he thinks women are an asset in any unit he's not assigned to. So if he boots out all the women then how is he going to get enough men to take their places?

disclaimer: never been in the military

However. I have worked with women and it was in blue collar fields. I’ve seen a couple of tough ones. Not sure of their sexual preference nor does it matter. One was a body builder and she was a tough little thing. Point is, they chose blue collar and were able bodied as any of the men.

What I’ve observed is that once upon a time, the military was very good at placing people where their abilities fit the job. Not all men are physically and/or mentally capable of front line combat. Back in the day, at least in non-war time, people were placed where they fit. I don’t think that’s happening anymore because....racist/sexist/discrimination blah blah.

Something else I’ve noticed. My wife has worked at various places and most all of them were 80-100% female employees including management. From the stories I’ve heard (and the fact that I have 5 older sisters) it seems there’s always a constant drama and some of the women are total backstabbers. Very high turnover rate because they just can’t seem to all get along. Way to much gossip and teen drama, even with 40-50 year old women.

I’ve worked in shops with 100 guys and once in a while, a couple might end up fighting it out in the parking lot and then everyone gets back to work.

The places my wife works at, a dozen women just can’t get things done in a timely and smooth manner because they just can’t get along. Lots of time spent talking about how so and so doesn’t do crap.(while so and so is not there) Meanwhile, a guy would just call out another guy to his face and say “yo, you ain’t doing your job and the rest of us are having to take up the slack”. If we did talk about someone while they’re not there, it would be a quick, “that due ain’t worth a damn”. Not a half hour, high strung conversation.

Of course there are exceptions to the rule. My sister all have good work ethics. Of course, they still can’t get along with each other for any length of time. There’s nothing quite like growing up with a bunch of older red headed sisters.

I’m not for women in the trenches and in
other certain military positions. I don’t think the feminization of our military has done any good; I think we are weaker because of it. But it’s part of the whole PC movement, and that has made us weaker overall.

(Apparently God didn’t have a problem placing Deborah in a high commanding position in the field. Something I think about.)
