I served for 6 years in the AF Reserves during the lates 70s early 80s. I have a more military bearing than my husband who was in the military much longer and achieved a higher rank than I did. But, I am basically fearless.
If you think women are wusses, wait until you encounter a millennial. You will be begging to have some of those other women back.
I was a boy scout leader throughout the whole time my sons were in scouting. I did not take any garage off of those boys and they respected me big time. I had one dad that was a wuss. He was whimpering that he couldn’t lift a 40 lb bag of ice. These were the same bags that I had been hauling around all day as the supervisor for our for our fundraiser. So when I lifted it for him, I told him to his face, “I hope that you don’t strain your uterus.” He got the message. I never had to lift another 40 lb bag for him again.

Yet, If I made that comment to a female who would not lift that bag of ice, I would be investigated for sexual harassment. See how that crap works? You have a uterus and can lift the bag, can demean sexually and get away with it, I have testicles and can lift the bag, I say that and I am toast.
Therein lies the issue. Double standards of both performance and behavior. Glad I spent most of my time in direct combat roles and units, fewer females the better, for both unit performance and morale.
Indeed, relatively speaking.
