The space agency said the 2016 NF23 is hurtling rapidly at a speed of around 20,000mph.
At that speed, it is around 15 times faster than the 1,354mph the retired Concorde travelled at.
The 2016 NF23 also measures up to a jaw-dropping 160metres.
At that size, it is bigger than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt which measures 139m.
It is listed on NASA's Earth Close Approaches page, despite whizzing by at a distance of 3million miles away.
But in space terms, it is considered close enough that it will pay attention to it.
At 160m, it is considered a "Potentially Hazardous Asteroid" because it is above 140m.
It comes after a bus-sized asteroid zoomed past Earth earlier this month in the closest approach of the year.
But despite that, NASA still missed the 15-metre space rock that flew past at 20,636 miles.
The space agency didn't find the rock until the day after.
Amateur astronomer and high school physics teacher Tony Dunn explained on Twitter the asteroid was "undiscoverable prior to closest approach because it came from the direction of the Sun".
Earlier this week terrifying footage also captured a fireball "40 times brighter than the Moon" shooting over the US.
Asteroids are caused by climate change (beating the warming alarmists to the punch).
I have heard they can cause it......................
Death from the sky; squish, go see God
Ben Afleck will save us.
“Ben Afleck will save us.”
Oh Snap. We are all gonna die then!..
20,000 mph...
Not so fast when we’re already going about 67,000 mph.
Bunk. CGI.
Depends on which way....................
That proves the pyramids came from outer space.
When?
Perhaps this is why the Space Force is being created.. The feds know something is coming...
Asteroid SD9 will fly much closer than NF23, making its close approach within just over one million miles (1.6million km) of our home planet.
Asteroid NF23 last missed the Earth on July 29, 2016, and on two separate occasions on July 10 and November 18 in 2014.
The giant asteroid will skim past the planet once again in the morning hours on April 23, 2020.
Two months from now, Asteroid NF23 will fly past Venus as it completes its trip around the Sun.
When he gets sick enough of us....
2016 NF23 will pass 3 million miles away—12 times as far away as the moon. Why aren’t they worrying about the moon hitting us? It’s a lot bigger.
