Cardinal Burke: 'Very Grave Problem of Homosexual Culture in the Church' [Revelation 18]
Breitbart ^ | 8/17/2017 | Thomas Williams, PHD

Cardinal Raymond Burke has called for "open recognition" of the Catholic church’s homosexual culture in light of recent revelations of sexual abuse.

"I believe that there needs to be an open recognition that we have a very grave problem of a homosexual culture in the Church," Burke said in an interview Thursday, "especially among the clergy and the hierarchy, that needs to be addressed honestly and efficaciously."

The former head of the church's equivalent of the Supreme Court said it was already "clear after the studies following the 2002 sexual abuse crisis that most of the acts of abuse were in fact homosexual acts committed with adolescent young men."

"There was a studied attempt to either overlook or to deny this," he said, referring to the mainstream media cover-up of the homosexual nature of the abuse as well as such denial within the church itself.

"Now it seems clear in light of these recent terrible scandals that indeed there is a homosexual culture, not only among the clergy but even within the hierarchy, which needs to be purified at the root," Burke said.

The cardinal's analysis of the situation coincides with another report, also released on Thursday, by the president of the Catholic League, Bill Donohue.

In his report, Mr. Donohue, who is a trained sociologist, decried the ongoing "media cover-up of the role played by gay molesters" in the church...

I thank God that, as a youth, my family was saved by Jesus Christ out from under the Roman Catholic Church. Who knows what could have happened to me and my little brothers had the Lord not put it into my mother's heart to try a Baptist Church down on the corner? It was there that we first heard the Bible preached in sermons. It was there where we first heard of salvation by faith (or being Born Again). We learned to pray to God Himself through our real priest, Jesus Christ, and not some corrupt man. We learned that the grace of God is not earned each week through consuming Jesus Christ flesh and blood, but by faith in His Word! (i.e. man does not live by bread alone but by every Word of God) I now attend a non-denominational family Christian Church with my wife and children and I pray that other families will hear the voice of God and leave the fallen, reprobate, Roman Catholic organization for the sake of their children, their families, and the truth...

Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. 6 Reward her even as she* rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. 7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. 8 Therefore* shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. 9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning...

The Cardinal is right on the money. They need to let it all come out, no holding back. Clean the Augean Stables, no matter the cost.

The Church has been badly damaged. Better PR isn’t the solution. And by the way — tell us why Benedict XVI stepped down. I’m sure it’s all VERY interesting.

Uh, Jan, strongly disagree. Baptist ministers have raped many young men. Not only RC priests are capable of such abominations...

I do wish that Benedict would name the “wolves” from which he feared to flee. Tough thing is, I honestly think he himself couldn’t tell.

Greek orthodox priests can marry,They do not have this problem. The Catholic church must cleanse itself of homesexul priests and also allow marriage. If not the church is doomed.

“If not the church is doomed.”

That we know that this will never be the case, is the reason we have no fear.

No, the reason they have this problem is because homosexual men have no business being in the seminary, but have been allowed in for many years. I would flat out ask a potential seminarian, “are you gay?” If yes, then sorry this isn’t for you. Some gay men think joining a seminary will help them overcome their proclivities when in reality, it makes it much worse for them. Others join to indulge their proclivities. The bureaucracy has been far too lenient. If the Church actually started aggressively weeding these people out, watch the press have a field day with how mean and intolerant they are. They will insist to their dying breath the problem isn’t with homosexuality. It damn well is.

I agree with letting priests marry and allowing already married men become priests.

That said, the homosexual issue is separate.

These priests don't go after altar boys because they can't get married.

Priests have plenty of opportunity for female companionship but the go after young boys because they are homosexuals.

"I thank God that, as a youth, my family was saved by Jesus Christ out from under the Roman Catholic Church."

Oh please. I have remained a faithful Catholic all my life and the vast majority of Priests have been heroic leaders of the faith. While I served in combat in Vietnam, it was the Catholic chaplains with us during the heaviest fighting.

You can go any direction you want to go with your faith but stop the anti-Catholic rants every time you think you have an opening.

The difference between what happens in locally controlled religions is that once the offender is discovered, they are removed. I am not aware of any case in any other denomination where there are as many as 25-30 accusations against a single person.

It’s not the sin—which is bad. It’s the continued coverup and the relocation of the offenders.

I don’t understand why the pedo-defenders don’t understand this.

You're free to worship as you wish but it's not just the Catholic Church.

Homosexuals have been infiltrating all institutions; religious, including Protestant and Jewish, Boy and Girl Scouts, counseling....

The biggest in sheer numbers is public education and I'm sure you can guess why you hear nothing about it.

These are not "men of God" who have fallen, they are frauds who entered the priesthood under false pretenses.

do you haters have to take every opportunity to bash MY church and my religion?

its one thing to decry this outrageous behavior but my Catholic religion is NOT to blame for this and you are attacking a persons' religion, not the crimes by some members....

I am SOOO glad we didn't end up in that cockamamie Baptist little church down the road ....

how does that feel?...

Here is a fair question for you. What would it take to show you that the Roman Catholic institution is thoroughly corrupt? How about the Pope praising Islam and bowing to Mecca? Or the Pope kissing the Koran? Pedophile priests going after little kids? What?

I partially agree with you. Sodomites have certainly infiltrated. However the unbiblical fiat order of priestly celibacy has caused great harm to the Church. Peter, whom Roman Catholics claim as the first Pope, was married!? The Eastern Orthodox Church (Eastern Catholic), does not have a Pedophile problem. You know why? Priests are all married!

I have no doubt that you have seen heroism and good things. I have Roman Catholic friends and family who have fine qualities. A Catholic Chaplain seeking God's protection in the trenches will not be turned away by Jesus Christ. But here is a question that I am asking others on this thread:

What would it take to show you that the Roman Catholic institution is thoroughly corrupt? How about the Pope praising Islam and bowing to Mecca? Or the Pope kissing the Koran? Pedophile priests going after little kids? The Roman institution forcing priests not to marry when God said it is not good for man to be alone? What?

Yes, there have been homosexuals who have creeped into evangelical churches. But it is very rare and not endemic (at least to this point). Why would a married man with kids want to rape others? But if some corrupt leader imposed unnatural celibacy on the clergy, you would see great evil. Churches that stick with God’s Word, rather than the devices of man, have the Holy Spirit to help them avoid these things.
