A Bell County grand jury on Wednesday indicted a Killeen woman on three felony charges after police said she threatened three people with a gun and let her pit bulls attack a man.
Lashai Jean-Baptist, 22, of Killeen, was indicted on three charges of aggravated assault threaten bodily injury with a deadly weapon. Jean-Baptist was not listed in the Bell County Jail as of Wednesday afternoon, according to jail records.
Bell County Sheriffs Department deputies responded to a home in the 1300 block of Briggs Road in Killeen on May 26 regarding a domestic disturbance with weapons, according to the arrest affidavit.
Victims told deputies that Jean-Baptist had come to the residence and pulled a gun, and pointed it at (two women and a man) and told (the two women) that she would kill them, police said.
The suspect let her two pit bull dogs out of the garage and the two dogs began to attack a man who was doing yard work at the residence, according to the affidavit.
The man attempted to get the dogs off him, but the suspect said if he hurt her dogs she would kill him, the affidavit states. The suspect pointed the gun at him from approximately a foot away and threatened to shoot him if he injured the dogs.
Police said the man went to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Ah. Yes, thank you. I believe so.
Hate crime.
The photograph of the alleged perpetrator is interesting. This person appears to be pleased in the picture.
She’s probably high as a kite and thinks she’s still asleep.
ahh, at least some clue as to the owner in this case. They usually don’t even give a name. Wouldn’t want to make a protected class look bad after all.
Very probably.
Possibly because some newspapers still have useful and entertaining practice of posting mugshots, or at least a list of names on the police arrest reports.
I do notice that, more often than in the past, the victim’s name is redacted as well. I wonder if this is to protect the victim from pit bull advocates.
I doubt it but I don’t know what other “pit bull advocates” thoughts are. Personally, I have no problem with any bad animal being put down.
Of course. I’ve met some humans that were feral as hell and more animal than some actual animals I’ve known. We’ve got a cat that acts more like a dog than some dogs I’ve known.
Crazy shook up world.
