President Donald Trump on Tuesday wrongly claimed that shoppers need to show photo identification to buy groceries and accused Democrats of obstructing his agenda and his Supreme Court nominee during a raucous rally aimed at bolstering two Florida Republicans ahead of the state's primary. Trump, addressing thousands of supporters in one of the nation's top electoral battlegrounds, also mounted a rigorous defense of his trade agenda, accusing China and others of having "targeted our farmers."
"Not good, not nice," he told the crowd as tensions with China continue to escalate, adding: "You know what our farmers are saying? 'It's OK, we can take it." The Trump administration last week announced plans for $12 billion in temporary aid to help farmers deal with retaliatory tariffs from U.S. trading partners in response to Trump's policies.
Tuesday night's freewheeling rally lasted more than an hour and included numerous attacks on the media, as well as one glaring false claim. Trump was railing against the idea of noncitizens voting and advocating stricter voting laws when he claimed that IDs are required for everything else, including shopping.
"If you go out and you want to buy groceries, you need a picture on a card, you need ID," he said at the event at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. "You go out and you want to buy anything, you need ID and you need your picture."

Same here. The gray hair (especially on the beard) is a giveaway, LOL.
However, I have come across a few businesses which have a "No exceptions" policy for carding. They'd card Methuselah - assuming he had ID. :0)

What the MSM doesn’t want to tell you is that they (and DemocRats in general) think that minorities are too stupid or lazy to get a photo ID card.

If a ‘high profile’ lib is having a book signing don’t the chosen few that get to ‘meet & greet’ have to show some form of ID?

That happened to me at a Kroger in Atlanta last September. They were swamped, I was going through self check-out and attendant had to drop everything to check me out.
More recently, here in Michigan, I was at a Speedway and the clerk was a young woman shaped like a large pear. She asked for my ID and I said I had no problem with it as long as she wasn’t going to slide it through the register. She said she had to slide it, when I asked why, she said she had to make make sure my license was valid. Of course it was and I certainly was impaired in no way; she was just being an officious grade AAA+ bitch. I don’t think she’s there anymore.

Every single MSM camera was at the Tampa rally. Trump was really cooking. Many times he taunts the MSM cameras and they do nothing. OAN news was covering it live for over an hour. ALL the rest of the MSM will not even show a single clip of the event. The revisionist history will be sickening after Trump is out of office but until then he is holding them screwed to the wall.
If you buy wine, beer,cigarettes or as in California they sell hard liquor in the grocery store.

Some cities have a law. It’s not a suggestion but a law. You could be 95 years old and they must see ID. If there is law for purchasing alcohol why not a law to vote?
Just to make the more general point:
Lieberals have no problem passing laws to card based on age, but will never card for voting.
Instead of calling them lieberal, could better use hypocriteral.
