When people use the term Great Recession, they are playing into the charade laid out by Federal Reserve and the Treasury Department.
The years 2008 through 2015 should be known as the Great Fleecing.
During that time, the greatest transfer of wealth in the history of the world occurred. Some $4.5 trillion was given to Wall Street banks through its Quantitative Easing program, with the American people picking up the IOU.
This is the primary reason the US economy has not been able to recover from the bank implosion of 2008.
Surely if you inject $4.5 trillion into the economy, you will get economic growth. You will get a 4% to 5% increase in Gross Domestic Product for at least a year or two.

When your ceiling is 2%, the “growth” doesn’t mean much.
They probably meant months. But at the low growth rates he had that’s not so great.

Take 75 quarters divided by 4 quarters per year and that equals 18.75 years.

We had to deal with this, a more serious affront to reason and truth, when we heard that Clinton reduced the deficit. He didn’t. His administration cooked the books by removing things from it. The first quarter that Bush was in, the figures were back up. Even if it was true, the Bush admin did NOT ruin the US economy in a single quarter.
Clinton lied. Obama lied. And while we’re at it, he’s not a valid US president. He wasn’t born in the country, he is a practicing Muslim infiltrator, his wife is a man and his kids are secretly adopted, likely from the black market.
He works with terrorists, sold our country down the river to Islam and was put in place by his constituents purely to ruin the country that they hate.
Trump’s administration is focused in efforts to improve our country, make us all more prosperous and put us, our family and our country first. Plain and simple.

How he claimed industry/manufacturing would never return — but it is.
It is doubtful they would even accept the facts as truth, however. Their minds are made up that the Obama was the greatest president ever, even though his only real legacy was the disaster called Obamacare and governing by executive orders and regulations — many of which were overturned by the courts.
Too bad you cannot go into the future about 50 years, find a text on real history and bring it back. Future historians will not be so kind to the Obama presidency.

The reason the economy went bad the last two years of W’s term was that the Pelosi democrats had taken control of congress and producers knew taxes and regulations were in for “adjustments”. Everybody had been buying houses on soft credit because the push to lend to riskier markets. Suddenly, the credit markets seized up.
The Obama “recovery” was based on the Fed lowering interest to nearly 0 and the government doubling the national debt in 8 years. Even with all of that, “stimulus” what jobs were created were part time to avoid Obamacare costs. Employers did not want to hire because of all the regulations. 2% GDP is sub-inflationary in that it won’t even keep pace with cost of living increases.
Lastly, immigrants flooding the labor market, particularly at the lower skill levels, took American workers out of the employment sector. Why hire an American painter when 3 central Americans will work for less?
Obama is gone and irrelevant. He also told us that 2% growth was all we would get going forward even after he left.
