I’ll bet there were warnings. And Nebraska cops don’t carry guns? Or do the only shoot Yorkies and Labs?
They are not domesticated animals!. The domestication was breed out of them over 100 years ago.
Please note, folks—this was a female pitbull.
When I was about 10 I had to walk to school every day. A terrier 2 streets away would chase me and snap at my legs. At least 3 or 4 pairs of pants were torn by that dog and when my parents talked to the owner, he did nothing. My mom gave me a water pistol filled with vinegar to carry when I walked to school. It did stop the dog when he attacked, and he didn’t stop attaching until after the second time I squirted him in the eyes with the vinegar, but he did stop after that.
That was in 1957.
anti pit bull crusade at it again
Once again we only get a small fraction of the complete story.
Just more fear-mongering by the FR leftists.
Three pit bulls in a home with children.
The parents should be arrested for child endangerment.
The dog attacked a child that he lived with. There were two more dogs there. There were more children there.
What is wrong with these people?
You soak a few biscuits in antifreeze and slingshot them into the pit bull yard. End of problem.
This is an update to the situation. You are receiving this ping because you posted on the original thread. Thank you.
Dog that attacked girl in north Omaha will be euthanized
By Rick Ruggles and Susan Szalewski / World-Herald staff writers Jul 28, 2018 2
A 9-year-old girl who was mauled by a pit bull terrier was in serious condition, days before her 10th birthday.
The girl, Kahliyah Lloyd, endured a prolonged attack Friday evening by a pit bull that lived in her home. Her condition was upgraded from critical to serious condition, the Nebraska Medical Center said Saturday. Reports Friday night indicated she suffered severe facial injuries.
The dogs owner, 24-year-old Jerrica Jackson, is listed on a police report as a resident of the home. Kahliyahs mother, listed as 29-year-old Shamiah Campos, also lives at that residence near 47th Street and Laurel Avenue. A woman answering Campos cellphone Saturday night declined to comment.
Jessica Jackson, Jerricas mother, said late Saturday night that Kahliyah seemed to be doing well. She actually looks better than I expected.
Shes going to have some scars, Jessica Jackson said. Were looking forward to her getting healed and being the smart, beautiful girl shes always been, Jessica said.
Jerrica Jackson was arrested on suspicion of harboring a dangerous animal and failing to have an animal license. Police also booked her on two counts of having no animal vaccination and for not having dangerous animal insurance.
Jacksons Facebook page contains posts about breeding and selling pit bulls.
Jessica Jackson said the siblings reported that another pit bull in the house, called named Grizzly, tried to protect the girl.
The police report simply said that Kahliyah had been severely attacked by a family dog. The dogs name was Layla.
Jessica Jackson said this behavior was totally out of character for Layla. The pit bulls in the house were accustomed to the children, she said.
Police Lt. Jake Ritonya said he was at the scene and at the emergency room. Doctors and nurses appeared to be shaken by the extent of the injuries, he said, which were confined to one side of the girls face.
The look on their faces said it all, Ritonya said. As the father of a small girl, he said he, too was stunned.
Jessica Jackson said two police officers took balloons and coloring books to Kahliyah on Saturday.
Kahliyah, whose birthday is Wednesday, was at home with her young siblings when she was attacked by one of three pit bull terriers in the house. As the attack continued, a sibling ran to a neighbor, who called 911.
When firefighters arrived, they had to use a pole to control the dog, which continued to try to go after Kahliyah.
The dog will be euthanized, said Mark Langan, vice president of field operations for the Nebraska Humane Society.
Langan said the dog also would be tested for rabies. This is standard procedure, he said.

The family owned 3 PBs? My bet is the dogs weren’t pets.
