A man is recovering after he was attacked by his neighbor's dog.
The attack happened near 35th and Gore around 8:00 a.m. Monday. An investigation is underway following the attack.
Police said a man went outside and was bitten by his neighbor's dog, he then went back inside to get a gun and shot the Staffordshire Terrier, more commonly known as a pit bull.
The dog was impounded and is now in quarantine at a local vet while its owner is facing charges.
"The dog owner was cited for running at large," Lawton Animal Welfare's Field Supervisor Roy Rodrick said. "The animal had escaped a four-foot chain link fence, and was also cited for court proceedings for a dangerous animal."

kind of hard to carry one in your pocket though..
Dog owners are irresponsible. If a dog bites a person the law should be that it’s put down without question and the owner fined 10,000 dollars and pays for all medical bills.
The abolition of Animal Husbandry1 and of hunting2
1. Around the world, societies that practice animal husbandry are desensitized societies.
The abuse of animals inevitably spills over into the treatment of women and children.

I've pointed out the problems with Clifton numerous times to you.
Including the fact that he does no independent verification of attacks and relies solely on newspaper accounts.
Yet you continue to use him to bolster your agenda...no integrity.
Could you explain to me why you refer to a ‘pit bull’ as a “pitt” bull?
I could understand it if it belonged to William Pitt.
My understanding is that ‘pit’ is derived from the fact that dogs were forced to fight
in an enclosed area referred to as the pit
which was situated lower than that in which the spectators were seated.
The only defintions of ‘pitt’ I find are these...
1. English statesman who brought the Seven Years’ War to an end (1708-1778)
2. English statesman and son of Pitt the Elder (1759-1806)
3. British playwright who created the fictional character Sweeney Todd (1799-1855)

Here in Illinois we have what is known as the One Bite Law. But the first one aint free. My wife was bitten by our neighbors dog, a Jack Russel terrier. Two tiny little holes in her finger. It looked like she got poked with a pencil.
36 hours later she was in the hospital with a fever of over 103. They kept her for 8 days. It damned near killed her.
The animal was quarantined for a week with the owners, nice folks btw, paying for it. They were fined and when all was said and done the judgement agains them was over $120,000.00 plus expenses and time off.
Our lawyer took 1/3 as is customary.
