This 1955 Chevrolet Station Wagon was recently uncovered after a 33 year+ storage here in Dallas, Texas. This is the wagon that was previously owned by Ms. Ruth Paine. The Paine's were fatefully attached to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy due to the fact that Marina Nikolayevna Oswald Porter, the wife of Lee Harvey Oswald at the time, was living with them in 1963 in Irving, Texas during the time of the JFK assassination. Lee Harvey was staying in an apartment building in Oak Cliff and would regularly visit his wife and the Paines.
Their marriage in shambles, Lee Harvey was trying to reconcile with Marina. Lee Harvey would travel to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1962-3, passing out his communist propaganda. As documented by testimony after the assassination by Ruth Paine, this '55 Chevrolet BelAir Wagon was used to travel to New Orleans and picked up Lee Harvey & his belongings, which included the rifle. Unbenounced to the Paines, Oswalds rifle was carefully wrapped in a brown and green blanket and placed in the back of this wagon. The Warren Commission (FBI) determined that the bundled blanket & rifle were stored in the Paine's garage leading up to the fateful day of November 22nd, 1963. It was purchased by a neighbor of Ruth Paine's and subsequently ended up with the son of said neighbor. There is a lot of information out there that ties Lee Harvey to this station wagon leading up to the assassination day I will try to detail.
Clifton M. Shasteen was the proprietor of Clifton's Barbershop at 1321 South Storey Rd. In Irving, Texas. He testified before the Warren Commission that Oswald had his hair cut several times at the shop and that he had personally cut Oswald's hair "three or four times." He had no doubt about this customer's identity and recalled a conversation they once had about a pair of unusual yellow shoes which Oswald was wearing. Shasteen said that Oswald told him he had got them "down in Old Mexico."
Shasteen's certainty about this man's identity is given great credence by the fact that he knew Ruth Paine by sight and had seen them together.
Midway through his testimony, Shasteen was asked by Assistant Counsel Albert E. Jenner, Jr. whether Oswald had ever driven an automobile up to the shop. Shasteen replied, "He drove that there 1955, I I think its a 1955, I'm sure its a 1955 Chevrolet Station Wagon, It's either blue and white or green and white, it's two-toned, I know that" This is little doubt that Shasteen was describing Ruth Paine's car, with Oswald driving it! This is a major revelation in the fact that Lee Harvey Oswald was not suppose to be able to drive. There are numerous witness accounts of Oswald driving. During her lengthy testimony before the Warren Commission, Ms. Paine was questioned by Assistant Counsel Albert E. Jenner, Jr. about that particular paragraph. He stated that "the Commission is very interested in the subject matter of Mr. Oswald, of Lee Oswald being about to drive a car."There exists solid evidence that Oswald was receiving driving instructions from Ruth Paine, presumably in Ruth's own car at the time, this 1955 light green Chevrolet Station Wagon, which was one of three vehicles owned by the Paines. A letter written by Ruth to her mother on Monday, October 14th, 1963, includes the following passage :
"If Lee can just find work it will help so much. Meantime, I started giving his driving lessons last Sunday. If he can drive this will open up more job possibilities and more locations."
After President Kennedy's assassination, the Paine's continued to use this wagon and it was repainted a light blue. Undoubtedly they wanted to distance themselves from Lee Harvey Oswald and his murderous act. At that time, it was known what an important piece of history that this wagon is. It was simply transportation for the Paine's until the late 1970s.
Sitting in a garage since the late 1970s, this wagon is still very solid. The exterior presents all original trim and the old repaint commission by the Paine's after the assassination. This wagon was originally two-tone green and white in color.
The original 265 2bbl. V8 engine is intact but not running. The factory generation charging system is intact along with the factory-equipped power brakes, windshield washer reservoir and Rochester carburetor. The firewall, inner fenders and core support sheetmetal is good and solid. The original color and trim identification plate is also intact as is the original VIN plate. Just think the very rifle used by Lee Harvey Oswald to kill our beloved president Kennedy sat right here and traveled to Dallas, Texas, again, unbenounced to the Paines. Who would have known that something like that would happen. The old shag carpeting is disintegrating but this we decided to leave this wagon exactly as it was pulled from the garage after its lengthy storage.
Does any conservative today still actually believe the MSM Oswald nonsense, considering how the Deep State is caught every day showing its hand?
Sheesh, anyone who actually still buys this idiocy is a true coincidence theorist!
Could he drive or not?
Ah yes, their song went to Number One With a Bullet.
My first Car was a 1955 Chevy 210 2 Door Station Wagon.
I’ve only seen two other Chevy tri five two door Wagons since though I’ve seen many more Nomads.
Disclaimer: I had nothing to do with the Kennedy assassination.
That’s a keeper. Looks like the passenger side taillight is possibly aftermarket.
This barber, Shasteen, seen Oswald drive to his shop for haircuts several times. Twice Oswald took a 14-year-old boy with him.
Without going into all the drama surrounding the kid, he was found out to be a Russian language student of Ruth Paine’s at the time.
As an adult, the kid with Oswald turned out to be the actor Bil Hootkins. The whole thing with Shasteen & the kid is weird since he came back to his shop once alone & lectured him on Communism.
The keyboardist is still alive and is 97 years old now.
Drop an LS7 in there and air bag shocks. 8>)
But, did Raphael Cruz ever ride in it?
Those aren’t Secret Service agents, those were the camera cars I believe.
Was Ted Cruz’ dad riding shotgun?
LOL....see my post 13.
