GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -
The woman who owns two pit bulls that attacked and killed a 75-year-old woman Wednesday in Gulfport has been arrested.
Police say Emily Craft, 32, was arrested on a warrant for misdemeanor dog-at-large and vicious animal charges. Police say those charges stem from a July 2017 incident where Craft's two pit bulls entered someone else's yard and attacked that person's golden retriever.
Officers were at the home on Deidra Court investigating the death of a 75-year old woman who was attacked by the same two pit bulls just before 8 a.m. Wednesday. The victim has not yet been identified.

This is 8 deaths in the USA in the first 4-1/2 months, or 136 days. 136/8= one death every 17 days, fewer so far than last year, which was one death by pit bull dog mauling every 11.7 days, 31 total. There were no deaths from March 25 to May 10, 2018. Unusual.
Just kidding.
I don’t understand according to the Pit Bull apologist the golden retriever is 100 times more dangerous than a pussy cat Pit Bull are we sure that poor Pit Bull weren’t acting in self defense form the ferocious and dangerous golden retriever? Maybe we shouldn’t jump to conclusions maybe the golden retriever frame the poor innocent Pits?
I am not Chet99, but it does appear that I have picked up a subject he laid down, does it not?
There is nothing new under the sun.
Thank you for posting this article.
Agreed. Unusual re deaths 2018. I think it’s because of efforts like this one to veil pit bull attacks as “unknown” or other breed. I’ll start waiting for a story about Chihuahuas killing an athlete.....
I love dogs. I have two big dogs that would lay down their lives for me. They both have zero aggression in their behavior.
They do know good and bad and will protect my wife and I from a bad guy. When they see a stranger they are protective but not aggressive. If I say okay or show friendship to the stranger they run to the stranger to demand to be petted.
Pit Bulls are breed to be aggressive over many years and will kill. They are a time bomb and even worse are often owned by criminal elements that want this type of dog and encourage their aggressive behavior.
Pits are no good and some of their owners are worse.
It is possible that the pit bull apologists are now using the Golden Retriever as a red herring for their talking points, since there have only been 3 deaths recorded by Golden Retriever in the bite statistics from 1982-2016, vs. 351 Pit Bulls, (not including mixes). There have been 0 by Newfoundland and Dalmation, so maybe we will begin to hear about them next.

We have huge fruit trees in our yard and the neighborhood kids will hop our fence to swipe a papaya or some mangos. Someone suggested I get a mean dog. I’d rather get a taller fence.
...and they continue to say these dogs are not a danger and should be welcome in neighborhoods.
They are a danger and they should not be in neighborhoods.
Forgot to add this about my most favorite dog now sadly gone from lung cancer. She was friends with the UPS delivery man. In the summer the UPS drivers would keep the van doors open. My Greta would leap into the van and the van driver would pet her. One day a different van driver made a delivery.
I went outside and found a terrified driver and my dog whining. Greta did not understand nor did the van driver. I told him, “just pet the dog” and all will be okay.
I’m a Chet99 fan and happy to have you pick up the subject. One day these dangerous, dangerous time-bomb dogs will be banned in neighborhoods.
Here are some possible reasons for fewer deaths the last 50 or so days. It could be a statistical glitch. It has been a very cold spring around the nation this year, maybe fewer dogs outside; they have short coats. In addition, the sheer numbers of the attacks, and the resultant publicity, may be making more people arm themselves or otherwise prepare themselves. There are more stories of people stabbing the attacking animals than before this year, for example. And lastly, trauma units and LEOs may be catching up.
But golden retreivers are “assault dogs”.
“...and they continue to say these dogs are not a danger and should be welcome in neighborhoods.
They are a danger and they should not be in neighborhoods.”
People might as well be keeping leopards or jaguars as pets. They’d probably be less dangerous.
Pit bulls are really nice dogs - except when they are not. Meanwhile, I’ve not heard of many people being mauled or killed by Golden retrievers. Not a one, actually. I wonder if it’s just press bias.
LOL, there are some FR things that just live on...

I was attacked by a golden retriever recently. She tried to lick the skin right off my face.
Exactly. I’ve never met a mean golden retriever. Ever. I would assume that one that would really attack a person may have been raised in such a way as to go completely against its nature. I wouldn’t want to go near a golden retriever with the personality of a Chihuahua, though. :)
