Historical polluter. From the 1750s to the 1950s Western Europe and North America produced the most global pollution as these were places where the populations grew (thanks to increased medical care) and also these places were the leading industrial powers. As the polluting industries moved east, the pollution went there as well.

London's famous fogs were really smog and they've disappeared since the 60s

Ditto on the Sea Showers. I enjoy my hot PURE running water in my shower without MAA or COBB interruption.

I recall seeing a story a while ago related by some woman who asked her aged grandmother “What do you consider to be the greatest technological advance you’ve seen in your lifetime?”

She expected the answer to be television, or space flight, or air travel, or something like that.

The actual answer was “hot, running water”.

iPhone or Hot Running Water? Hot Running Water.

Television or Hot Running Water? Hot Running Water, and it isn’t even close.

Music or Hot Running Water? Hot Running Water, I’ll make my own music.

And so on...I am with that elderly woman. Boy, do we take it for granted, though.

I resolved that, when I got out, I would take hot showers as long and luxuriously as I wanted to!

The infamous "Hollywood Shower."
