What is WRONG with us Conservatives? Its there in the comments. Hate has seeped in. They hate Californians because California, they hate cops because tickets, they hate Baptists because Bible, they hate Catholics because Pope, they hate cars because trucks, they hate trucks because cars, they hate Blacks because Whites, they hate Whites because Hispanics. They hate young people because Millennials.
God help us.
This June will be 20 years on FR (okay, 21 counting lurking, and only 17 counting my new name since I burned the old one). I have never seen this kind of devolution of thought, dialogue and conversation.
I am venting.
I appreciate the Q threads as home territory now. This is the place where one can find inquisitive seekers of knowledge, people who can discuss and debate with maturity, curiosity, and open mindedness. Like the old days?
I don’t post a whole lot here due to time constraints, but I’m always watching. I really appreciate those that spend the time here in thought, prayer and discussion.
Disruptive views are gently set aside, whether that be religion, vegetables, or small engines and tractors. To focus on the real analysis.
Now I feel like I’ve posted a vanity, but suspect I am among friends.

Yeh, it used to be pretty good except at election time, but the bounce back kept getting less and less cordial. I was mostly lurking until Q threads.
It’s like all sit com put down type stuff now. Insult contests ETC. Nothing like it used to be. It’s just Satan spreading his influence everywhere.

One reason I think so many people have become such cranks is that they have been working so hard all their lives only to have so much money and freedom taken away from them by the Deep State. Too many people have given up. Too many people have had their hopes dashed again and again and again.
So I agree because I’m seeing a lot of the same things, but I try to be understanding of how they got that way.
Many are afraid of getting their hopes up, only to have them crushed yet again.

There has always been a certain amount of tension on FR. I think what you notice - and I do too - is the increase in gratuitous insulting back-and-forth. It's a practice field for polishing insult skills.
The higher-quality contributors have better things to do with their time than make substantive contributions that are quickly buried in noise, so the trend is not our friend.
Perhaps all the nice, glass half-full people, just gravitated to the Q thread. You may have sampling bias...

I fell the exact same way.
I believe you have summed it up quite succinctly and it’s heartbreaking to witness. Hence the reason there are often less than 30 comments per thread, unless it’s a hate thread ie. Sessions or anything to do with Cohen/stormy. Seems so pointless in the grand scheme of things.
