Ex-CIA officer on Fox'n'Friends remarks that nobody in the the Haspell hearings asked about Russians interfering on our elections, and Haspell is an expert on this subject. Hahaha - I guess Russian interference isn't so important? Should have asked at least if she thought it was important, should it be a priority, etc.
-- I did it.
I went out into the Free Republic main board. --
There has always been a certain amount of tension on FR. I think what you notice - and I do too - is the increase in gratuitous insulting back-and-forth. It's a practice field for polishing insult skills.
The higher-quality contributors have better things to do with their time than make substantive contributions that are quickly buried in noise, so the trend is not our friend.

Your post #817
Your observations about the main board are keen. The snark abounds. I think many wanted to become writers for Don Rickles or Rodney Dangerfield.
There’s also this that is prominent...poor knowledge. An example cut from one of the threads:
“YUGE difference with Trump as POTUS than He Who Must Not Be Named.”
He Who Must Not Be Named was referring to Obama in that post. Now I ask you: how long have we known that phrase refers to McPain? Six months?
Get with the program.

I noticed that too, not one question about Russian interference in election, everything about what happened 17 years ago after 9/11. The democrats are suddenly concerned about retroactive morality. The stupidity is unbelievable.

I can remember a time when I first came to FR (think O.J.) that talking badly of a fellow Freeper simply was NOT tolerated.
But as time passed and FR became more popular the personal attacks increased and was less well moderated (Duke Lacrosse/EVO). The "allowed" attacks on fellow contributors caused me to seek fellowship elsewhere. I would still routinely scan headlines at FR but seldom lingered.
This Qanon group has restored my faith in FR contributors. While there has been some tension vs the few trolls that pop in occasionally, overall the experience of receiving inputs from scores of intelligent, diverse individuals has made lurking at FR once again a fantastic experience. Thank you all for restoring FR (at least a small piece of it) to the forum I couldn't get enough of as a source of information and perspectives rarely seen from the compromised MSM.

Yes but we've always had plants here too. Theres a guy, actually I believe by writing styles and hours of operations that it was multiple people, I pegged years ago and confronted a couple of times. Ive continued to check his posts from time to time over the years. He continued to argue against our rights and point out that everyone was just a conspiracy theorist...
Until just a couple of days before inauguration anyway. Odd that.
