Theres a buzz around this years Masters. Tiger Woods is back. This might be the wildest year in Masters history, CBS Sports reports. But the biggest news out of Augusta National this week is this: A popular, stupid beer catchphrase has been banned.
Shout dilly dilly at the Masters and youll hear doobie doobie doo as a security guard sneaks up to eject you. Thats according to Bryce Ritchie, an editor at golf magazine Bunkered.

They are also copying all the yelling that went on during the golf tournament at the end of “Caddyshack.”
Actually slid it right onto the runway - water all over the place.
Or “Whasssup?”
I certainly wouldn’t call Bud Light beer.
Revolting swill, Horse p*ss...any number of descriptors will do, but it for damn sure isn’t beer
“Remember when all you used to hear during golf tournaments was polite clapping?”
Then came Happy Gilmore...
Most fans are on their best behavior. If they get kicked out, there is a very good chance they lose their lifetime tickets. If their guests act up, too bad. They have a limited number of tickets issued via a lottery drawing every year. If there is any fan trouble, it is likely to come from those tickets. Master’s tickets are going for ~$3k on the resale market. It might be more with Tiger back in the mix..
Or whacked in the shins with a pitching wedge.
Marillion did a great cover of the song in the 80s.
Good. All the idiots who shout after shots should be escorted out from every tournament.
In the Hole! started with the movie Caddy Shack.
I just stole that! ;o)
Bent a couple of bolts on the gear once.
Nice job. I think those things are hardened.
What about yelling FREEBIRD!
Or, BABABOOIE!
I preferred the one time at the PGA when a patron yelled, “OATMEAL!”
I wish they would ban TV announcers from saying the words “Tiger Woods” in any tournament he plays in and is down 20 strokes after the second day.
Is the “YOU DA MAN” craze over yet? Remove them as well.
Keep it classy, it’s gawf don’cha know.
Maybe... but, I think Caddyshack was out a LONG time before I remember people yelling "IN THE HOLE" after every golf shot.
I do think the words came from Carl, "Used to be a greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters Champion"....
But, the practice of yelling it came later.
Isn’t the Masters a private venue and not part of the PGA Tour per se? Don’t know how that works.
