'Russian Bots' Rallying Behind Embattled Fox News Host Laura Ingraham

Russia-linked Twitter accounts are rallying in support of Fox News host Laura Ingraham. According to one website that tracks Russian propaganda on Twitter in near-real time, the hashtag #istandwithlaura saw a 2800% jump in 48 hours. Another website that monitors Russia's disinformation campaign found that @ingrahamangle, @davidhogg11 were among the top six Twitter handles that Russia-linked accounts have tweeted at in the last 24 hours.
Russian-linked accounts' capitalization on the Ingraham controversy comes after they flooded Twitter with messages and disinformation related to the Parkland school shooting, which claimed 17 lives in February.
In the days immediately following the shooting, propaganda trackers found that the top hashtags among Russia-linked accounts were #Parkland, #guncontrolnow, #Florida, and #guncontrol.
Botcheck.me said almost all the top two-word phrases used on Twitter the day after the shooting had to do with the attack. "
The content that Russia-linked accounts spread on Twitter is not necessarily produced by Russian government operatives and does not always align with Russia's views, though that is sometimes the case, according to Hamilton 68.
Instead, the influence operation's main goal is to sow discord related to divisive political topics in the US and Europe.

Bull. The left does this to discredit people who have dissenting opinions - they call them Russians. Laura shouldn’t have said anything about the kid’s college rejections, but all she said was stop whining, and she apologized too. She doesn’t deserve to lose her career over it, and a lot of people see that.

Russia-linked Twitter accounts are rallying in support of Fox News host Laura Ingraham...great - nephew filled in one of the blanks for me at dinner today - did a quick search and calculation and found that Hogg, the bald lesbian, and one other of the Parkland loud-mouths had between them something over four and a half million Twitter followers (or at least supposed followers) - this helps explain why sponsors fold so fast and pull advertising when such rabble start complaining - it appears in social media that they have tremendous followings and can influence large numbers of people to follow their lead.
The right side needs a website or Twitter account with several million confirmed followers that would be able to actually provide support and threats of counter-actions when these left-wing boycotts take off - meanwhile maybe Russian bots are better than nothing....
