The 2-year-old girl kept begging her mother for popcorn during a showing of Star Wars: The Last Jedi on Long Island, N.Y.
Keri Karman, 25, seated next to Harley Riggs, snapped at the toddler to keep quiet during the Jan. 2 showing at a Levittown theater, Nassau County police told The New York Daily News. When Harleys mom, Celia Riggs, 28, told Karman not to talk to her daughter, a wild scene broke out.
Karman cursed and yelled, then clamped her hand over Harleys mouth. She grabbed a tub of popcorn from Celia Riggs and dumped it over Harleys head, striking the child with the empty container, the publication reported. Karman and her father, Charles Karman, 61, ran out of the theater while Celia Riggs tried to comfort her sobbing daughter, who suffered a bruise.
Nassau County Police Department detectives used surveillance video and credit card receipts to track down the Karmans, according to the Daily News.

stories like this get more commonplace all the time, sometimes makes me think of soddom and gomorrah, like maybe God should just wipe the slate and start over
She looks like a nasty piece of work. Reminds me of one of the Manson Family taking a mugshot.
Two year olds shouldn’t be going to the movies to begin with, but there was no reason for her to take it out on the child who didn’t know better.
Did a little googling....4 or 5 years old for popcorn.
I don’t care how bratty a child was being a stranger has no right to physically assault that child. A complaint to a manager would have been justified but this was way beyond acceptable.
That's why...
a) I haven't gone to a regular theater for three years.
b) When there is a special film not in any way attractive to small children, I go to the theater close to the police station.
c)Always go to the first showing so my shoes don't stick to the floor.
Once inside and seated, it's a crap shoot among the animals kicking the back of your seat, being surrounded by others anti-social animals, with brightly lit cell phones texting and/or talking the entire time.
I don't know how, but you should get extra credit for that somewhere.
Great tag!

I guess you don’t always go to the first showing-——that is rarely crowded.

Two year olds are famous for tossing fits in pubic.
Seriously. DEAD WRONG to bring a 2 year old to anything but a movie for preschoolers. Pay for the effing babysitter. We always did. That does not mean it is ok to hurt the child or cause a fight. But little children dont belong in adult oriented movies.
[caveat. Some afternoons when waiting for my older son to finish his practice, Id take my little son to an empty movie theatre at 4 pm with his game boy and he never once looked st the screen and was silent the whole time]
The kid begging for popcorn was better entertainment than that movie.
Should have just tased the ignorant family and enjoyed the movie.
Apparently, the mother of the child was the one with the tub of popcorn.
But mama couldve stepped out of the theater with child and avoided the whole mess instead of interrupting the audiences enjoyment of the film. Or next time hire a babysitter.
.....
True. Unfortunately, it seems that there are more and more parents who think the rest of us should be exposed to the noise and disruption from their children.
No big loss, it was only a Star Wars remake.
Well said.
I raised 4 boys, and I now have 4 grandsons. When I take the grandchildren to church with me, I go over the rules of behavior with them. When they were too little understand keeping to these rules, I would step outside the main church whenever one was raising a fuss that would disturb others. A lot of inconsiderate behavior around these days....
Oh, come on.
There is hardly a bratty child that would not benefit from a good slap.
I agree with you 100%. I stopped going to movies because I couldn’t stand the @ssholes who always ruined the experience for the rest of the paying customers.
