My mom died 3 months shy of her 103rd birthday. Never had a drop. Her cousin died when she was 109. Never drank. I am into genealogy and it is amazing how long my ancestors lived. My mom's mother died when she was in her 90’s but her dad died very young- in his 50’s. God has a plan for each of us.

While I understand that the statistics don’t quite work this way as they overlap, I have little doubt that some people will say they can increase their chances of living longer by 32% just by exercising 15 minutes a day, having 2 drinks, and staying just a little overweight.

Still better safe than sorry :)

Drinking alcohol more important than exercise

Participants who were slightly overweight — but not obese — cut their odds of an early death by 3 percent.

those who drank two cups of coffee a day cut that risk by 10 percent.

This is hands down the best study that has ever been done in the history of the world! Thank you for posting it. This evening when I finish my fourth cup of coffee, I shall waddle over to the wine rack and toast you with a glass of red.

Confusing cause and effect again. Correlation is not cause.

Hmmm. I was just checking the headlines before going to do my workout for the day.

I think I will have a drink instead.

It is called having a cushion.

We all get sick and having an energy reserve for our body to call on improves our chance of recovery without doing harm to the rest of the body.

Too much weight of course is bad because it puts a strain on the body but five to ten pounds is no problem.

When it is forty to fifty, you have a problem.

were 18 percent less likely to experience a premature death

So dying before age 90 is considered a "premature" death????

“...subjects who drank about two glasses of beer or wine a day were 18 percent less likely to experience a premature death...”

Subjects who drank about two or more 6-packs of beer a day were much more likely to experience a premature death. Primarily due to “Hold my beer while I try this” syndrome. Learn to hold your liquor and let someone else try that crap.
