Dakota Meyer has filed for divorce from Bristol Palin a source tells DailyMail.com.
The veteran filed paperwork two weeks ago according to the source, and moved out of the couple's Austin home around Christmas.
The couple were married in a private ceremony back in 2016, a little over a year after calling of their first wedding just days before the ceremony.
They have two daughters, 2-year-old Sailor and Atlee Bay, who was born back in May. Bristol, 27, also has a 9-year-old son Tripp from her relationship with fiancee Levi Johnston.

>> EXCLUSIVE: Dakota Meyer files for divorce from Bristol Palin after less than two years of marriage, with him moving out around Christmas and blocking his ex on social media
Um, this is something that ANY lawyer in a divorce case is going to advise his client. Keep your profile ‘private’ (must be a ‘friend’ to see it) and disconnect your ex-spouse’s connection.
That reminds me of a criminal case I was involved in some years ago. Two brothers, their incredibly abusive, alcoholic father. One brother went to Westpoint (I believe) on full scholarship and ultimately a general at the Pentagon. Our guy was convicted of rape and murder and the defense blamed it on his upbringing. At some point children choose their own path, no matter what you did for good or bad.
More trash from haters here. That is why after many years I stay mostly away. We do not need another Right scoop.
Let's list all the winners from the Palin family, if that's your standard:
Track
Trig
Bristol
Willow
Piper
Try as I might, I couldn't find any of those names in my Lives of the Saints book. :-P
Oh, that’s too bad. I’m very sorry for their children.
Three children whose lives have been damaged and sense of security destroyed. I was a surrogate father figure for two girls from a broken home — sociopath mother, give-a-sh*t father — and as adults, the scars run deep. Infidelity, divorces, lying, alcohol & drug abuse, behaviorally acquired disease, arrests, attempted suicide. No outsider can fix the mess. Children need and deserve to be raised in a stable, God fearing, structured, loving, traditional, two-parent family. Anything less is child abuse.
It would be interesting to read what the custody arrangements will be.
There was plenty of ‘dysfunction’ going on in my family back when I was a child, in the 1950s-1960s.
The difference is that so many problems today seem to be the product of deliberate destruction of culture - not just the failures of individual parents.
It’s hard for parents to fight against all of the cultural influences, when their kids are in public schools all day, farmed-out to daycare even in the earliest and most formative years, and with so few full-time moms at home.
Only individuals can solve these problems. It can’t be left to schools and government.
I don’t know what has gone on in Sarah’s home, and I’m not going to judge any individual; I just know that it’s an incredible fight for ANY parent, today.
When a husband files for divorce it usually signals abuse or infidelity. Prayers for all.
President John McCain?
The rule of thumb for gals is to stay away from men named aftyer states or cities. There is nothing but trouble from these bad hombres.
Hey! Hold on just a minute...
Isnt the divorce rate 60%... this goes far beyond anyone named Palin.
Well stated. Good luck to Brisol. And to whats-his-name ;-)
No, it isn’t 60%. It is estimated that the divorce rate for first marriages is in the 40% range. Marriages after having children from “previous relationships” have a higher failure rate, though, which gives marriages of people who didn’t have children before marrying someone other than the child’s other parent (*gasp, gasp*) a divorce rate around one in three.
Bite your tongue.
I read it in People. Here’s the article via MSN:
“This is news....why?”
Palin is well liked by many people here. That’s reason enough.
Just because a person can take control and conduct himself under fire does not mean he can conduct himself in real life. Just st because a person is a daughter of a person who leads a righteous life, does not mean that the daughter leads a righteous life. As with our great Union so goes the reality in real life. American exceptionalism is individual, and does not necessarily run in families! Which is why we have a Representative Republic and not a Monarchy.
Cut these two lose they do not lead godly lives.
Only one of John Adams’s sons turned out well.
