Walmart was set to face a discrimination lawsuit Friday after a woman claimed African American hair products were locked behind glass at a California store.
Famed attorney Gloria Allred held an afternoon news conference Friday.
"It was something I had to stand up for," the mom said. "I would like the glass to go down, and for things to go back to the way it was, where it's not segregated and everything is where everyone can get what they need."

She is. Not me. She’s accusing whites of being racist by locking up black cosmetic products. Why would whites need black cosmetic products? And what has Christianity to do with it?
Reading over all the comments until I came to yours, and something gelled in my head about the end of retail shopping -
When one buys over the internet, theft is much harder to do. So, internet shopping will become more profitable than retail brick and mortar shopping.
Not that this is a “good thing”, but an indication of the failure of traditional cultural values. Stealing is now “cool”!
So, now it is easier to browse and read labels on the internet than track down whoever has the key to the cabinet in the local store.
This isn’t a good thing, because if transportation becomes compromised, we won’t be able to find anything locally. All the local businesses will be gone. Just because we no longer respect the law, and each other.
Are they going to complain now that the expensive gold chains are locked behind counters too?
I agree with your excellent post. We live in the country, but our town has wonderful shops & it’s a pleasure to shop locally. I also order online.
You are absolutely correct....... The more we order online the more brick & mortar businesses will become obsolete. When I was with my mom we also went to Target. (We have one an hour away so I hardly ever shop there) and it’s like no one works there. It is organized in the strangest way. It makes no sense to me.
Lack of customer service and people who are rude or seem incapable of anything other than a grunt also makes people go online. I know it can be taught. Chick Fil A takes the time to teach their workers what customer service is and how to speak correctly. For young people this will be invaluable to their future success.McDonald’s is a horror story in the customer service department.
I guess I rambled on!
Well, stop stealing crap and it won’t get locked up.
Your choice
I don’t really know; it was the first one that came up under *vintage breck ad* ...it had no date attached.
Think of all the money you save on shampoo, Baldy! :)
They are behind the glass to keep your grubby hands from just taking them and sticking them in your bra and walking out.
Cosmetics are frequently stolen item - thieves, mostly druggies, can sell them quickly for cash
Also dangerous - 2 Leo officers I know were attacked by crack heads when trying to arrest them for shoplifting
Were stabbed with needles
The obvious answer is thievery of select small and expensive items thus easy to steal. Race is not a factor. The item can be anthing that fits the bill.
Isn’t time that there be a verb, “To Allred” - to shamelessly bring a lawsuit out of the most ridiculous claims. She should be all red, but she never is.
Not a problem.
As a business, I would simply stop carrying any item that is more stolen that bought.
As a rule, only fascism* can control what services or products a business must have in stock.
* look it up...
Agreed.
Blatant big time barritry
With tort reform ( whatever happened to thar issue?( suits like this wouldn’teven appear.
All store losses due to theft end up in price increases to consumers.
Patience is a virtue.
I guess selling them online only would cure the problem. The sticky fingered crowd are a menace.
Not just male razors. Both hubby’s and mine are behind locked glass and they are not electric, just those pricy refillable Gillettes.
