Full Title: Model gets £100k payout after Asiana Airlines flight attendant spilled boiling hot noodle soup on her privates causing severe burns
A MODEL has been awarded a £100,000 payout after a flight attendant spilled boiling soup on her, causing horrific injuries to her "private parts".
The woman, identified only by her surname Chang, suffered third-degree burns to her genitals, thigh and abdomen on the flight from Incheon, Korea, to Paris.
She was flying in the business class cabin when an Asiana Airlines crew member accidentally spilt the instant noodle soup on her, the Straits Times reports.
Despite several operations, the former model still has not recovered from the burns.
"Even after years of skin transplant surgery, I cannot fully recover," she said.
"The burn to the core is also affecting my relationship with my husband. I was also told that it can cause danger if I get pregnant."
The passenger claims the plane did not have emergency supplies to treat her burns properly.
She says she was forced to rely on a bag of ice, ointment and pain relief tablets until they reached Paris.
However the airline claimed in the lawsuit that the woman "accidentally knocked over a tray of ramen dishes".
It added: "We took emergency care as directed by a doctor on the plane."
The incident occurred in 2014, and Chang filed the suit the following year, demanding around 2 million won in damages (£1,300).
The Seoul District Court reportedly ruled in favour of Chang last Wednesday and ordered the flight attendant and Asiana Airlines to jointly pay her 109.6 million won (£73,000).
Suddenly her privates weren’t all that private. They quickly became very pubic.
