This is it. Not a lot of interest in live freeping tonight I guess. I was busy myself earlier.

Rams O not doing so hot so far.

Dunno. My computer has decided to get all fouled up.

Nobody seems to be conversing on this thread during these games. Looks like the Rams might lose because of special teams?

Glad they haven’t lost their sense of humor.... despite an 0 - 16 season!

On the bright side, with the Number 1 pick, they are going to have their choice of several great QB prospects.

This is a great cure for insomnia. Fell asleep on the couch and was having a nightmare that the Bears were in the playoffs and doing well. Going to bed early. Yawn.

Not looking too optimistic for the Rams now either. Oof.

The Rams are losing because of special teams? Who would have thunk it.

Maybe the Rams will do better the second half.

I think claiming the National Championship is a good move for them.

Of course everyone knows they’d likely get killed playing Bama or Georgia and wouldn’t be undefeated if they played those team’s schedules, but they did all they could do, won every game, and the system as it exists gave them no path to actually making the playoff.

I think it is as legitimate as Hillary claiming to be the President because she won the popular vote, or Bernie claiming to be the DNC candidate because the system was rigged.

UCF and their conference agreed the the playoffs, and accepted the $$$ that went with it. If they had not, we wouldn’t be talking about UCF.

I went to school in the South ... one drive back to NC from Boston after winter break there was freezing rain, so route 95 in VA/NC area was basically a solid layer of 1 inch ice. Many many cars off the road spun out... all with southern plates. Many many cars ON the road ... NY, MA, RI, ME, VT etc.

It was fun. Route 95 is totally straight and boring ... so don't ask me HOW they managed to spin their cars off the road. If I had slammed my brakes on I would have spun 1/2 mile down 95 ... but still been on it.

Thanks for service!

UCF has one of the best scoring defenses in the country. But Alabama has the #1 scoring defense in the country.

UCF has one of the best pass defenses in the country. But Alabama has the #1 pass and run defense in the country.

UCF’s offense showed up around 50th in the country in the pass and run. But Alabama has the #9 scoring offence and # 5 run and #13 pass offense.

I think Alabama is a better team than UCF. I can’t think of a better system than the one they have now of playing off the top four teams. The bottom two, #3 Georgia and #4 Alabama turned out to be the two best and I think we’ll see Alabama as the best.

They did. $$$$ and endless bowls between 6-6 teams continued.

I just think it’s silly that any team in any sport if they win every game on their schedule gets an opportunity to at least be in playoff, except for teams outside the power 5 (plus Notre Dame) in Division One FBS college football. I say either afford any undefeated team a chance (by going to 8 teams I guess and who cares how that effects the bowls) or take these mid-majors out of the FBS. In the meantime I’ll let those kids that didn’t lose have a parade and hang up their banner.

The way I see it, to calculate the top 25 college teams, no matter what factors and weighted measurements are used, there will always be disagreements about it. Don’t know how you can expand anymore games to beyond the top four. IMO you can’t have, or shouldn’t have, more than one extra football game beyond the bowl games, which is what we have now. The risk of injury is too great.

There will always be disappointments in the formula to calculate the FBS top 25 because there are so many moving parts, but I think the process, if not the formula, is a good one. Maybe the formula can be improved. There certainly are a lot of moving parts and from what I’ve seen, you get 25 people and they have 25 different ways they would do the FBS formula.

In the meantime, the Rams are in deep do-do.

And they didn’t challenge thee 4th down complete pass
