I might get ripped for an unpopular opinion here.

But overall we got WAAAAY too invested in this.

I mean, I’m disappointed that Moore lost, but reading the emotional pearl-clutching response on FR indicates that this is the beginning of the next civil war, a breakdown of society, the start of World War III, the soon-coming Rapture and the end of the world.

Come on, people! This was just one special run-off election. It garnered more attention than it deserved due to Roy Moore’s accusations. I mean, yeah, he refused to back down. I was hoping to see a Democrat lose to an alleged pedophile. That would have been hilarious. But it is what it is.

We’ve survived 8 years of Obama (and the Dems had a near supermajority for the first 2 years of that). We’re going to survive this. In retrospect, I’m sort of wishing we hadn’t put so much backing behind a candidate with so much baggage (whether or not the allegations were true, maybe Moore just wasn’t a strong enough candidate to overcome them like Trump did).

Yeah, it’s one step closer to losing the Republican majority...but what good is the Republican majority doing us anyway? Or has EVER done us? We still have a year to recover before the midterms, and within about a week we’ll have forgotten about this whole thing.

McConnell was right. You put candidates up there who can win elections then you get majorities in congress. You put Roy Moores up there and you lose elections. I donated to Judge Moore after the primaries but we now have a liberal democrat representing ALABAMA! If we keep this civil war in the republican party going say hello to speaker Pelosi and an impeachment of president Trump. Mueller knows he will never get a criminal conviction. His evidence is inadmissable. He will revenge his butt buddy Comey with an impeachment. Liberals are egging this civil war on and we are playing right into their hands.

This also MEANS that Sen. Al Franken can renege on his promise to resign from the Senate because his vote is now more important than ever since Doug Jones has basically won in Alabama.

It is now time for “total war” against the RINOS and backstabbers in the GOP. If not, then let the honest Republicans/Conservatives drop out of the RP and form an Independent Party. This will cost the GOP more elections, the House, the Senate, and eventually the presidency.

They are like Carthage - should be levelled, salted and buried in history. At least the Carthaginians fought against “their enemies”, not “their friends”. There is a difference!

Then we can rebuilt what is left of America if there is anything left worth fighting for.
