I’m still drinking out of a set of mugs I bought more than 40 years ago. The kitchen cabinet is over flowing with gifted mugs. Can’t imagine ever buying more.

At nearly 70 with 7 grands, 6 G. Grands. WE buy gift cards when Kroger’s puts them on special @ 4 times the points, grab the right number of Amazon cards, done in 10 mins. That is usually around Dec 3.

Kroger’s has been doing specials for 25 days of CHRISTmas, today it’s butter at $1.99 up to 5 one lb units. Kroger Coffee is $4.99, another bargain. Scored a free Orange Crush single and Lipton’s Green Tea Diet 12 pack at half off yesterday. Up to 5.

While I didn't go to a mall or spend money on Amazon's black friday sales, I did have to pick up some parts for my aging SUV -- little did I know Pep Boys was discounting headlight bulbs, air filters and wiper blades! Didn't know until I got to the register and "saved $12 off the normal price.

That right there was the sum of my black friday shopping.

I had to go to Walmart for dewormer for the cats yesterday. Dreaded going on a holiday weekend but no other choice. There was bumper to bumper traffic on the highway but Walmart was almost empty. The cashier was in the aisle asking if I was ready to check out. Hubby asked what deals they had but I had stayed in grocery section.

Stirred the dewormer into the cats’ breakfast but they refused to eat it. Guess tomorrow, they’ll be wrestled down and have it squirted in their mouths. I may not survive.

Had plans to go out at 7am for one bargain - fleece blankets for 1.49. Was going to buy a bunch for the local veteran’s home. It was one of the things on their list. Instead I was at the ER at 8am bringing in hubby for 5 hours. He’s OK BTW.

Finer things in life. You work hard, you reward yourself with a few nice things. When they are on sale, so much the better. I’ve been collecting crystal coffee mugs since I got a set of them for overpaying for some aftershave about thirty or forty years ago.

I bought this before Black Friday but I consider it my Black Friday bargain. A Hitachi $479.00 table saw for $329.00 at Lowes.

Time to get in the shop and start on jewelry boxes for all the grand daughters for next Christmas.
