FULL TITLE: Catholic school is forced to cover up a brand new statue after 'unfortunate' design showing a kneeling boy and a saint
A Catholic boys school has been forced to cover up a brand new statue after a rather unfortunate design created a storm on social media.
Blackfriars Priory School in Adelaide last week unveiled a statue of St Dominic handing a young boy a loaf of bread.
However the design featuring a boy kneeling at the foot of the 12th century Spanish-born saint has caused embarrassment to the inner-city school, which teaches boys from kindergarten to year 12.

No. Not really. I was LMAO the moment I clicked on the pic.
Perverts see what they want to see.
The statue is fine....................
Surely you must be joking. This was done on purpose.
Same here.
True to reality...
No, an don’t call me Shirley..............
True but today there are millions on the internet that look first at licentious views.
The statue appears to be 'inspirational', just not in the way the school intended.
The school could have used a person with worldly-type wisdom in order to screen for potential problems, because this one writes its own jokes.
Whoever did this double entendre statue must be laughing all the way to the bank.
I agree. It looks like it was done on purpose.
He didn’t have to be holding directly up against himself in that particular spot. You would have also thought he would have been over handing it the child with an outstretched hand too. But no, it was very much obvious the designer wanted this to have (obvious) hidden meanings.
The perverts have certainly exposed themselves on this thread ...
The bread looks exactly like bread..................
Ain’t no way the artist did this by mistake.
Seen it, and I still don’t believe it. How could this slip by? Especially since the Church is still facing repercussions from the priest abuse scandals. And we thought the Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers album cover was over the top. (not gonna post an image of that for the same reason, but we “old farts” remember it well)
To some people a loaf is a loaf.
To some people, anything substantially longer than its width is a phallic symbol. This latter group may fairly be classified as “perverts”.
Years ago the state of Florida was looking to replace it’s capital building with a larger, more modern structure.
One of the designs submitted was a large, tall, thin-ish, building with two shorter domed structures on either side. Part of the discription submitted with the design referred to it as a “symbol of power”.
The thing is, the submission was not meant to be taken seriously. The architect thought it was so blatent a phallic symbol that everyone would be in on the joke.
Guess which design won.

I saw a statue of a man giving a boy a loaf of bread.
Period.
.
Not all priests and saints are or were perverts, far from it.
