You gotta be kidding...The builder of the statue could have moved the supposed loaf of bread off to the side a little or moved it away from the body...

There's no way in the world a 'straight' man would grip a loaf of bread like that and at that level, in that position, pressed up against his dress...And the little boy pressed up against the leg of the priest...

If there wasn't anything wrong with the statue, they wouldn't have covered it up...
