Veggie octopus?
Animal, vegetable, fruit or mineral?
Kill it! Before it’s too late!
Ooooooooomm.
It does kinda look like the pod thingies that took over the Earth...
I’ve gotten those at the farmer’s market before. Buddha’s hand lemon.
Thing is, I never heard before about a fruit that doesn’t have any fruit inside!!
It must be some kinda joke on monkeys or something. They start peeling, keep peeling, keep peeling then there’s nothing left!
I can’t figure out the seed deal either. No seeds. Huh?
That one doesn’t look like Buddha’s Hand, it looks like Buddha’s CLAWS!!
Looks like it could use some ketchup.
You only die once too.
Well nick, don’t keep us and djf guessing. How does one use this thing?
Al Franken Hand
Ahhh cooking padwan. The Buddhas hand is a herb for the most part. It is always in my local Kroger. Think lemon zest on steroids. (Fish, baked products, dressings, etc.) PM me when you want to know what to do with Dragon Fruit. ;-)
Or god forbid you find one of these: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Durian
Very very stinky. I did not use enough verys.
Writing in 1856, the British naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace provided a much-quoted description of the flavour of the durian:
The five cells are silky-white within, and are filled with a mass of firm, cream-coloured pulp, containing about three seeds each. This pulp is the edible part, and its consistence and flavour are indescribable. A rich custard highly flavoured with almonds gives the best general idea of it, but there are occasional wafts of flavour that call to mind cream-cheese, onion-sauce, sherry-wine, and other incongruous dishes. Then there is a rich glutinous smoothness in the pulp which nothing else possesses, but which adds to its delicacy. It is neither acidic nor sweet nor juicy; yet it wants neither of these qualities, for it is in itself perfect. It produces no nausea or other bad effect, and the more you eat of it the less you feel inclined to stop. In fact, to eat Durians is a new sensation worth a voyage to the East to experience. ... as producing a food of the most exquisite flavour it is unsurpassed.
How about Lychies. Much much easier place to start in the exotic tropical fruit world. Weird. Delicious. Even Guava. Not as weird and delicious too. You could go biblical too and try fresh figs. They are awesome.
If you want something wild, try this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8O8WG0d9jaY
“They start peeling, keep peeling, keep peeling then theres nothing left!”
Like a banana. Throw out the skin and the bone and there’s nothing left to eat.
I’ve had fresh figs plenty of times.
Fresh figs ROCK!
Like a fig newton on steroids!
The mountain man agrees to come down from his mountain cabin after years of his city nephew’s pleading.
The nephew takes him to a large grocery store in Wheeling. The old man had never seen a banana.
Again at his nephew’s request—he eats one.
“So what do you think, uncle?”
“Not bad, not bad at all.” replies the mountaineer.
“Would you like to take a bunch back with you?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“`cause I already got a lot of wants I cain’t satisfy.”
