The Age of Sex Robots is upon us. Numerous science fiction authors, with a degree of jittery anticipation, have predicted this development for years. Yet it has not seemed feasible until recently.
The New York Times just ran a substantial profile on the impending rise of virtual reality porn and sex robots, and stirrings of anxious excitement are palpable in other media outlets. A strange and terrible new world is dawning, but let’s not cue up “Also Sprach Zarathustra” quite yet. Far from being a boon dispensed from on high, the impending sex robot revolution threatens to destroy our entire sense of reality.
Unfortunately, a dash of cute therapeutic language can make anything sound borderline acceptable, including sex robots. Sex robot manufacturer Matt McMullen told the Times, “Based on our experiences with thousands of clients, people do use them [sex robots] for sex, but there is something more that exists. We focus on companionship… There are people who are already lonely, and people who live their lives being alone. They work all day and come home to an empty house. This is just offering an alternative to those types of people. They don’t have anyone else.”
Before a sad violin starts playing for all the lonely people—the Eleanor Rigbys longing for the steady but sure companionship of a sex robot—note it is much more depressing to imagine McMullen’s version of his customers than to imagine a bunch of horny idiots who just want to have sex with a humanoid hunk of plastic and rubber.

These things are MADE to grab initial purchases as gags. Maybe they’ll get further purchases from lonely young men in their moms’ basements - but even they will become disappointed with it after a couple of less-than-ideal experiences.

Feminism has resulted in 20% of women hitting middle age without having had a child and another 10-15% having only one child. They have self-selected out of the gene pool.
End result - the teens and twenty-somethings, the generation that was born, is more pro-life and less likely to identify with the radical feminist definition.
Suppose sex bots hit this generation. A chunk of the male population never reproduces because it uses sex bots. A few of the women they may have paired off with resort to artificial insemination and single-motherhood, lesbianism or polygamy instead. In 50 years, there are fewer people who tolerate sex bots and have revulsion/disgust because the ones who could be addicted by them removed themselves from the population.
In 100 years, the world belongs to the people who show up - which isn’t radical feminism or pro-sex bots.

[ There is this thing called mgtow that is gaining popularity with younger men as well as the older guys. Men going their own way is what it stands for. They reject cohabitation and marriage. That crowd is fertile ground for actually replacing a real woman for said sex bot.
As a man who once got divorced against his will, I can also understand one of their central tenants: Which is besides sex, what does the modern woman bring to the table? Their thinking is not much. Hence the appeal of the sex bots. ]
If you have a sex bot you would probably want a baby incubation chamber/ cloning facility and a robotic nanny then....

The common trends I’ve seen for them are having been raised in a household with divorce. And when parental alienation rules said the father cannot see them if he complains about the mother (who initiated the divorce in 70% of the cases), his only out is to hate on ALL women.
His son then decides the problem is the majority of women. It is reinforced when he sees friends jailed for not making excessive child support payments or cannot make it due to unemployment, while the mother sees it as her right to have new boyfriends and alienate the kids against the father.
Tack on the liberal mantras blaming all men, especially white men, discriminating against them in college admissions and funding and diversity lectures that bash men as inherently evil, guilty of toxic masculinity ...
Yes, I understand why there is now a whole culture of dispossessed men who hate the society that collectively hates them ... and would use sexbots instead of risking child support payments and broken families like the ones they came from.
It’s interesting to me that all of these robot-companions that make the news are pretend-FEMALE.
When are they going to make a studly pretend-MALE one, for the ladies?

These men also ridicule the idea of the NAWALT.....Not all women are like that. Because to them, yes all women are like that. I would love to see some some legit polling on how prevalent that attitude is among young men.
Because even pretend male robots won’t clean bathrooms!?

Could she be trained to do the chores around here? Gather the eggs, feed the pigs, mow the yard? Weed the garden? Give me a good masssage? Cook me supper? Clean the house? Can I declare her as a dependant?
