The collapse of the Berlin Wall and the Soviet Union ended the Cold War, but it didn’t end the ongoing battle of ideas between liberty and collectivism.
A recently released survey by the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation revealed some disturbing facts about what millennials think of communism and socialism.
Some of the results are a little disturbing and could have big implications for the future of our country.
For instance, the poll found that about half of millennials said they would rather live under socialism or communism than capitalism.
The poll also found that nearly 1 in 5 millennials think Josef Stalin was a “hero.”
“Millennials now make up the largest generation in America, and we’re seeing some deeply worrisome trends,” said Marion Smith, executive director for the Victims of Communism, according to MarketWatch. “Millennials are increasingly turning away from capitalism and toward socialism and even communism as a viable alternative.”
The findings of this study should be a wake-up call to those who think that communism is no longer a threat to the United States and the West. Young people, who had little personal experience with the half-century battle between Soviet tyranny and American freedom.

I blame their parents, the education system and biased media.

Public school children have been indoctrinated in socialism since Middle School. Check the textbooks. “Stalin is cited more than George Washington. Corporations are evil, etc.” By the time they get to college, they are in lockstep with the mantra.
The idiots have no idea that communism is state owned slavery all they need do do is look at some USSR photos.
Yes, but they can't live without constantly using gadgets (including iPhones) that were developed because of capitalism.
They think that socialism/Communism will let them live ‘equally’ to ‘the rich’, but don't understand that it will actually force them to live worse than the poor in America live now.
Two problems come to mind. When the democrats and neocons tell them Russia today is the same as the USSR, they believe it.
And the flip side of that coin is that when their own politicians are pure communist...they don’t recognize it.
They see open eradication of religion, calls for nationalization of medicine, calls for ending free speech, a total surveillance state like the world has never seen, Bernie saying Americans don’t need 20 different kinds of toothpaste, DHS, TSA, CIA, NSA, a nomenklatura that is above the law. A state controlled press, the legalization of domestic propaganda, calls for criminalizing certain thoughts about the environment, celebrations of abortion, the characterization of political opposition as mental illness, a government that uses the tools of government against political opponents,,etc...
They see all of that and it doesn’t ring a bell. They don’t now communism when they swim in it...
MILLENNIALS, at the urging of the professors, often campaign for property tax levies, believing it will bring down tuition fees. In reality, the lion’s share of state and local taxes go towards administrator/educator salaries & pensions.
Liberals like to say that generals and the military always want to fight the last war and are not forward thinking. But they spend all their time thinking of slavery as people owning people as was common in the Americas through much of the 1800s. Since the Red October revolution of 1917 the trend has been toward governments owning people. Yet liberals are still fighting the last war.
General Patton was politically incorrect in that he referred to the populations of the freshly liberated concentration camps as “slaves”. Of course he was correct. Who else would be in “slave labor” camps? The gun control and liberal mindset refuses to see government as a threat and always a potential greater threat.
If they get what they want they will forever wished they never got it.Twisted minds never stop to think about results of their actions.
Communism is equality, comrade. Everyone gets to stand in bread lines. Well, except those guys over there. They’re in charge.
The Re-Indoctrination Camps aka the University System needs to create a year long exchange “study abroad” program requirement in places like Venezuela, Cuba ....so that these kiddies can take their ideas for a test drive before they buy......
Then by all means go to the country you believe to have the best form of socialism/communism. No one is stopping you from doing so.
I know it's fashionable to consider Millenials a bunch of Obamabots. As many writers have said, that's hardly a well-founded generalization. Yes, youths tend to vote liberal but before and after polls suggested a significant proportion of millenials broke for Trump at the end, possibly handing him the election.
Further, Deplorable parents are undoubtedly advising Deplorable millenials to hang up when a telemarketer calls, or walk away from dopes with clipboards, thus causing an underweighting in polls.
Finally, remember that by most accounts, at the time of the Revolution, 20% were Loyalists, 33-45% were Patriots, and the rest were ballast. If you replace Loyalist with statist, and Patriots with Deplorables, we are right where we started.
I thnk we are seeing history repeat itself. The left/Loyalists are painting the Patriots/Deplorables as intransigent dolts who must be brought to their knees and Kiss the Ring, for their own good. In turn, the Patriots/Deplorables are not going quietly into the night, using new media to outsmart the Establishment and bring otherwise neutral parties to the side of truth and freedom.
In turn, the kids of Deplorables likely are as much "underground" as are their parents in polls, etc. Where they ARE visible is on memes and the like....have you ever seen how many pro-Trump meme pics there are vs anti-Trump? I doubt that's coming from a bunch of geezers. Thus, I wouldn't so easily assume the millenials are all commies.
Unfortunately, Progressives run the universities. Their pitch to students on socialism is like Nancy Pelosi’s pitch to Congress on voting for Obambacare. “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.”
A problem because “From each according to ability, to each according to need” sounds fair to youngsters until they realize that some faceless bureaucrat gets to decide what you need and what they think you can contribute.
Any system of government or economy designed by man IS inherently evil, be it capitalism, democracy, republicanism, communism, dictatorship, or socialism, etc. It was only the mediating effect of Christianity that moderated the excesses of capitalism and allowed the people of the West (formerly known as Christendom) to prosper. Of course it was Christian principles that led to the downfall of communism in Eastern Europe. Of all man-made economic systems, capitalism can benefit people to a greater degree but there are problems associated with it.
With the West drawing away from the God of the Bible and embracing man-centred attempts at ‘equality’ (in man’s eyes), the excesses of capitalism will continue to be more prevalent, including the formation of oligarchies and monopolies. In ANY man-centred system, those with ability/power/extreme guile and of limited conscience, will rise to positions of power, attempting to CONTROL the masses. HRC, WJC, VVP, KJU but also JVS and MZ (aka MTT) especially, and KIS, KJI, and AH.
