I think you already posted the best song, and the best singer of it.
Simon and Garfunkel “A Heart in New York” from Central Park Concert:

They say the neon lights are bright
On Broadway
They say there’s always magic in the air
But when you’re walkin’ down that street
And you ain’t have enough to eat
The glitter rubs right off and you’re nowhere
They say the women treat you fine
On Broadway
But lookin’ at them just gives me the blues
How ya gonna make some time
When all you got is one thin dime
And one thin dime won’t even shine your shoes
They say that I won’t last too long
On Broadway
I’ll catch a Greyhound bus for home they all say
But they’re dead wrong, I know they are
‘Cause I can play this here guitar
And I won’t quit till I’m a star
On Broadway
On Broadway
On Broadway
Well, if you want a song, the only one I’m in the mood to post is this one.
A Frank Sinatra sound-alike: Strangers On My Flight (no, not a typo)

Checkout this video filmed around manhattan and brooklyn, days before 9/11/01. It's a rockin' love song for the city.
Great bit of trivia: The brownstone where the first half of the video is filmed is the same building that's on the cover of the Led Zeppelin album Physical Graffiti.
Supposedly Mick Jagger wrote it in the back of a taxicab in New York City during a sanitation worker's strike in the 1970s when there were piles of garbage all over the place in the city. The song reflects the zany scene in NYC at the time.
I’d say “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” but I’d be lying.
First of all, Prayers Up for family and friends of the latest round of VICTIMS thanks to our dumb@ss Mother Government and her stupid, lax, PC immigration policies.
Secondly, living in a city the size of New York City would be a Hell On Earth for me, but I CAN understand how some people like it.
Lastly, I'll add this sentiment from 9/11:
