Female Game Developer Fired For Calling Other Women "Pretty"

One of the largest video game industry conferences currently taking place in Poland has become subject to a controversy after its social media manager—and game developer—made a gaffe on Twitter. Her crime? Using the word “pretty” to describe other women. Her innocuous tweet was met with immediate fury from transgender game developers like No Man’s Sky’s Innes McKendrick, who assumed Wiznerowicz’s gender, and demanded that she “shut the hell up and listens to them.”

To remotely normal human beings, this response is just deranged and then the company fired her. Each of these outraged its should be treated for mental abnormalities and the company sued. Oh well.

My final defense contractor job had a multipage document we had to sign. It was called an “ethics” statement. But it had nothing to do with ethics. It dictated what, when, where and the content of conversations. For example, no jokes, not ever. Nothing to do with religion. Never. No politics. The only acceptable conversation had to revolve around business topics. Late on a Friday I asked a coworker what he had planned for the weekend. He stood above the cube walls and pretended to stretch while he looked in all directions, including over the edge at the adjoining cubes. He whispered, “I’m taking Peggy and Brian fishing this weekend.” It wasn’t until then that I realized how serious they all took the conversation requirements. We all hated it, but if you wanted a highly compensated job in Bay county your options were limited.

Incidentally, the top guys all talked about sports in meetings but the rest of us were hesitant to join in. Sauce for thee and not for me.

When I worked for a Fortune 70, “politics”(off limits) was defined as “anything that isn’t liberal”. You could talk about supporting Planned Parenthood but not opposing it. You really had to play the game. Management was completely blind to the hypocrisy to the point where it became a joke.

We have these “things” where I work. It’s absolutely laughable with their “costume” smart glasses, goofy colored/spikey hair etc. They are nice people and do work,BUT do NOT cross those lines and offend their snow flake sphere!

I was telling my 5th grade daughter that if I were leading a group of people who had a big presentation to a customer and a women on the team showed up wearing a bikini I would pretend I didn't notice and when she presented every other man in the room would also pretend they didn't notice. She thought that was insane and I was full of it. So I said "when we get home, let's ask your mom what she think I should do in that scenario." I did ask her and her response: "don't say anything, pretend you don't notice".

Because that's how scared men are of women now days. Even if we know we are 100% in the right, we also know that we will be jettisoned in a new york minute of some women says her feelings were hurt. Somehow having all men treat women as land mines to be walked around very gently is good for women. Somehow.

If you follow THOSE guidelines you can bet they will say you are creating a hostile work place because you don’t speak to them unless they speak to you and that is only to answer a direct question or return a ‘hello’.

I went through that with ‘office personnel’ but at the time and with the owners, I was ‘worth more’ to the company than them BUT they(owners) agreed I should keep my office time to a minimum.
