Another great Science Fiction author has passed away. He was also a conservative/libertarian sort of fellow who would offer his opinion on his website "Chaos Manor."

He will indeed be missed.

He wrote one of my favorite lines in all scifi in “Footfall” in reference to the invaders: “Nuke ‘em til they glow and then shoot ‘em in the dark.”

Which would be a good policy against antifa.

RIP Jerry.

Jerry Pournelle had a lot of good lines. His "Iron law of Bureaucracy" is pretty good.

Which would be a good policy against antifa.

And Iran, and North Korea.

From his last blog post on the 7th....the last he will ever post.

“More later I’m experiencing a wave of nausea.

Bye for now.”

I used to read almost everything he wrote. He wrote a column about computers that ran right through the time they became ubiquitous.

He and his partner, Larry Niven, defined a lot of modern science fiction.

An under appreciated series is The Golden Road, a satire based on Los Angeles when magic worked, and followed predictable rules. As usual, the first book, The Burning City, was the best.

I am very pleased to have a personal email from him.

He was a most wonderful author and man.

One of the greats from a time when good "science fiction" meant creativity and writing skills rather than computerized graphics...

Not an original line from him. The book came out in 1985 (from looking on the Internet) but that was a common joke line we used in the ICBM business when I joined back in the 1970s.

Well he still gets credit for making it known broadly.
